  • In pure bjj a good opponent will not be pushing into your gaurd. This a white belt technique forsure.

  • Went back to the OLDEST Gracie videos and yet the simplest of things have already taught me key details I've never done.

  • thanks a million gracieacadamy! I'm gonna use this to buttrape my girlfriend!

  • @mddog You're full of shit.

  • doesnt this move kind of rely on getting hold ov that arm in the end? that maybe quite hard to do

  • @pbfedorov

i used this move in a real street fight, believe it works really well

  • @pbfedorov Actually, if you can't get the arm you can just hug the body. The arm is just gravy if you can get it.

  • very good explinatiion.

  • When you pull their neck to make them hop over your leg if they don't hop over it you can just get a very easy body triangle which is a pain in the ass for your opponent.

  • @RSletitrange16 Depends on size difference. I weigh 150 and work with guys that weigh 290 so there's no body triangle there. I can get their back this way just about every time though. If they prevent me from geting the back they almost always give up balance and I get the mount.

  • that was a perfect video.thank you.

  • why will it kill you? unless its multiple attackers

  • These guys are great! I just purchased their gracie combatives dvd set and it's great, although a lot of the info is here already on youtube. It's still a worthwhile investment!

  • gracies you guys are awesome

    thanks

  • why not to a hand triangle at 2:58?

  • yeah I hope people know they can go for a arm triangle as another option before taking the back that way. I do that from guard all the time.

  • @menyu Arm triangle from the bottom requires a certain amount of strength. At my size I'd MUCH rather have the back.

  • @menyu The arm triangle is definitely an option, but GracieAcademy is focused more on self defense and techniques anyone can do. Arm triangles from the guard require a lot of upper body strength and it's hard to gain a good angle for them. It would probably be better for a smaller person to just go straight for the back.

  • @yourtubeusername001 Because it's strength dependent from the bottom.

  • Great Im gonna try

  • morelly.. once you learn the teq. you speed it up obviously (muscle memory)...

  • very good video...

  • i swear at this rate, brazilans r like the best ppl!! haha they seem so awesome, they have hott girls!!

  • oh yes, and brazilian jujutsu for the ground work without a doubt!

  • good technique! nice! my formula: a bit of taekwondo for accuracy, a bit of judo for takedowns and throws, wing chun for multiple opponents, boxing for punches, ninjutsu for standing locks, etc. and some chi na for those awfully painful finger locks etc.

  • Great instruction, works perfectly!

  • Then i will have to try it out more often!

  • So did it work rjb808?

  • I'm completely sold on Brazilian jiu jitsu. I think I'll seek it out.

  • this a good video it real helps ALOT.

  • Very good! I will practice that!

  • Niiice! I like!

  • yo nice lesson man, i really enjoy it

  • Same here. You can also arm drag from half guard which will get you into a similar position as step5 (Marcelo).

  • The way that he flattens the opponent and prompts him to step over is very nice. Great technique- I learned a lot from this lesson.
