  • Where is the term unborn in the Bible?

  • You should really look at argument 5. If there is nothing other than the miscarriage, it is only a fine. If other damages occur to the mother, then the other things kick in. In the Standard Revised Bible Ecclesiastes 11:5 is As you do not know how the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. The spirit enters after bones are formed. Not at conception.

  • I think you framed your argument very well in this video. You brought up many points that bear further consideration. Unfortunately, it does seem that you took the easy road, and sought passages that support your stances, rather than taking up the challenge of the passages that seem to differ from that point of view. If you would consider making such a video, I would be most interested in seeing it!

  • Funny. None of the passages this yahoo has posted in his video dictate an anti-abortion stance. In fact, none of them have anything to do with abortion period. It's so funny to see the anti-abortion people fail.

  • Can we abort this video?

  • Is a zygote a person? Why? I've never gotten a straight answer for this without a hilarious hoop jump. The bible is a terribly flawed book, especially the old testament, I wonder why this guy left out when yahweh ordered the forced abortion of all the pregnant women of a town about to be conquered by the jews lol.

  • @Feralus69

They left it out because they don't want people to figure out the truth.

  • The bible doesn't mention the word abortion, because it's a modern word,...LOL. The bible does speak about drinking a certain liquid to produce a miscarriage. I wonder what you would call that???? LOL This argument on this video is plain stupidity. Yes, there can be 2 sides to this debate....but at least say something that is not misleading.. or taken out of the full context of the bible. What the hell does the bible have to with the real issue anyway??? This is NOT a religious issue..LOL

  • This narrow-mindedness of the issue is the worst thing for society as a whole. How about the fact that the Catholic Church is so utterly stupid to be against the use of condoms???? How about the fact that the Christian voting bloq these days is often against any govt taking action against poverty. Instead, they support parties like the GOP who make it all worse, by kissing the asses of the rich. The is just another person mind-fucking in their insulated world.

  • Why do you christians bother quoting Jewish texts? you reject the Torah as God's big mistake - you reject God's teachings - So what does the NT have to say? And if abortion is such a BIG deal - Why didn't the big J say straight out that it was not ok? All of the texts are vague and need interpretation.

  • If America could improve our school system and build intelligent individuals, maybe then we could have more atheists and get out of this cloud of ignorance we seem to be envoloped in. Christianity is going to be the ruin of this once great nation.

  • @scuntpunter420 "Christianity is going to be the ruin of this once great nation.". This one great nation was more Christian before when it was more great.

  • The Fifth Commandment : "Thou shalt not KILL." ( unless, of course, it has now been modified to read : "Thou shalt not MURDER.") Great! Now I can go and kill the enemies of my Country, because the "law" says it's OK to do so - and also the enemies of my God. "Onward Christian Soldiers", as they say. Somehow, I just could never buy into that. And there's a crap-load of Muslims who can't buy into that either, in spite of those 72 vestal virgins waiting at the "Pearly Gates".

  • You believe this is the word of god yet you're careless with reading it closely. Psalm 51:5 as you quoted it clearly states it was the MOTHER who was in sin, not the unborn child. Second the Numbers 5:11-31 reference.

  • What are you trying to prove here? If you want to incorporate a law that gets its basis from the bible, there your out of your fucking mind!

  • God can suck my balls

  • So God "hates" man-made abortion but performs his OWN ones quite often? That doesn't make much sense. He HATES the idea of men "Killing" fetii but is OK with doing it Himself? But if God is ok with aborting, as people made in His "likeness", are we not also ok to do it?

  • @whoo689 what do you mean that God preforms his own abortions?

  • I guess this moron is WHOLLY UNAWARE that "God" performs his own "abortions" at least HALF the time??? Ever heard of the term "miscarriage"? What do you think that is? If "God" hates abortion so much, why does he allow so many miscarriages?

  • @whoo689 Hey, carefully controlled cell proliferation is hard!

  • Uh, nothing. This is just right-wing evangelicals obviously MISINTERPRETING the Bible for their own cheap political ends. Putting ideology in place of theology (although religion is bullshit anyway from the getgo).

  • You're missing the premise that explains why anyone should take your mythology seriously. If we set that aside for a moment: Yes, the bible considers the unborn children. Now let's take the parts of the bible in which abortion is allowed, and even justified. This yet again shows your god was/is okay with murdering children.

  • My personal favourite in this regard is Number 5:11-31 that basically says that if a man suspects his wife of cheating on him, whether based or baseless, he can take her to a priest (with some king of grain offering), who would have her brink "bitter water". If she's been unfaithful, she will swell ***AND HER WOMB WILL MISCARRY***. So yeah, in the old times, the priest themselves would carry out abortions. And here's an obnoxious gay dude preaching about how abortion is bad. Fail.

  • Heard the 2nd premise. It's shit. That's all that need be said here. Dislike.

  • ok, an unborn baby, is NOT a person and i think abortion is right. If a woman doesnt want to have a baby, you shouldnt have to. What if you got raped? cant support the baby? a TEENAGER? may die if she has this baby?you dont know her situation. now alot of people say what about adoption? i know some adopted kids&they grow up thinking, why did my mom give me up?did she not love me?&as a kid, thats horrible to think. Also, some mothers will kill the baby themselves, thats even worst.

  • The Bible is for faggots

  • An unborn child has the ability to sin?????

    This is a joke, right?

  • Why is this guy quoting the Old Testament....what a slippery slope that is. Accoring to many "that doesn't count anymore". Sorry, I don't know how you are figuring out new covenant vs. old....oh wait, you aren't...your selecting things that fit with today's reality.

  • @2003SCT

Anti-gay people quote the Old Testament. Why is this any different?

  • @Bluebelle9289 Exactly...they quote the Old Testament when its convenient yet dismiss a majority of Old Testament when its not. If you know you are doing it, its the height of intellectual dishonesty.

  • @2003SCT

Not that they - the anti-gay people and the anti-abortion people - would admit it.

  • The passage from Exodus 21:22-23 is obviously referring to any harm occurring to the mother, not the child. Please just answer one simple question. Have you read the entire bible from beginning to end in order? If you have not, you have no credibility making this video.

  • @PumpNTurbine I agree, although it's complicated. When you say the entire bible it would depend on who's bible is 'the bible'. A protestant reading the 'entire bible' would of course not be the entire bible for a Catholic or Orthodox christian. It's barely relevant though.

  • @PumpNTurbine Also, it's obvious the god of the bibles has no problem with abortion. If he did he wouldn't order so many children slaughtered, or have pregnant women run through with the sword. This is of course the view that the jewish people take as well.

  • You have obviously not read the bible. You misquote the key verse from Exodus 21:22. It does not say a "premature birth". It says a miscarriage occurs. And if you would complete verse 23, it says a tooth for a tooth. How do you exchange a tooth for a tooth with toothless newborn?

  • what about the Torah or the Quaran?

  • Very helpful and accurate

  • I don't blame you for not answering my question Matt! 1samel 15:2-4

  • @OpenAirAtheist Why do you suppose God had it in for the Donkeys? Do you suppose it's the sheer quantity of blood he's after there?

  • @xiqtem The foolishness of the cross is wisdom to those who are empty.

  • You didn't define abortion. But you did say it's morally wrong. You did indicate that it is non-legal killing of the unborn. But legal things are codified; not merely a whim. In 2 Sam. 12 David is punished when God kills his baby. There is no law admitting this punishment; nor is the baby found at fault. This is the unlawful taking of life. According to you (but not God) as morally wrong. (continued)

  • By contrast: A woman enters an abortion clinic licensed by the state (Rom. 13:1) they are authorized by God to perform abortions as codified in law. The abortion is performed according to God's law and God's will. You have nothing to complain about.

2 Kings 15:16 and Hosea 13:16 both show what God thinks about killing the unborn. You got a problem with that? There's nothing for you to complain about.

  • @chilimaan you have no understanding of God's word. NONE!

  • @proverbs1824 I'm afraid you're not being very convincing. Maybe try backing up your assertion.

  • Metaphors abound in your examples. So do similes.

Metaphors are like similes. (That's a joke.)

If you didn't get it, do your homework on them. Because the bulk of what you presented are examples of them.

The Bible is full of them. Alas, much of them are taken literally.

That should be glaringly obvious. (That's a metaphor.)

  • @charles030981..........you are so wrong. At the moment of conception life begins and therefore very human. To take a life born or unborn is MURDER!!!!! Women DO NOT have the choice or the right to end an unborn humans life.

  • WRONG....The unborn isnt a person.

  • @charles030981 you are so wrong! SO VERY VERY WRONG! See my comments which were directed at you. Abortion is MURDER! period! No one, not even a woman has the right or the choice to end the life of an unborn PERSON! At the moment of conception human life begins! When you kill it, human life ENDS!

  • @proverbs1824 You need to do some medical research to support your argument. If you want to convince me you will have to provide proof not an opinion.

  • @charles030981 GOD'S WORD is all the proof anyone needs. The medical community as with the scientific community is filled with a bunch of quaks. If you reject God's word, then you are lost and I am sorry for you. I will keep you in my prayers in hopes that God will enlighten you by opening your eyes and heart. There is no argument or discussion here. The truth will stand irregardless of what you believe. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life: There is NO OTHER!

  • @proverbs1824 And you can demonstrate that? You'd be the first. Here's my deal. I think you're just a raving nut. I don't think you even believe what you're saying. It's just an attention grabbing gimmick to help you fantasize that you're special. Of course; if you'd demonstrate your faith to us we'd have to take you more seriously. Could you do that for us?

  • @chilimaan God has already demonstrated Himself to all mankind: through Christ and through ALL creation. Men are left without an excuse. He also imprinted in everyone's heart His moral code; it comes in the form of the human conscience. We all know the difference between right and wrong. If you don't think murder (of any kind) is wrong, then you have a cold heart and ignore your conscience. Still, you are left with no excuse. One day you're gonna have to face God; belief in him or not!

  • @proverbs1824 No "we" don't all know the difference between right and wrong. We are taught right and wrong from birth. If you were taught that it was proper to kill people for working on Saturday (Exodus 31:15) then you'd think it was alright to kill people for working on Saturday. If you were taught selling your daughter into slavery was good (Exodus 21:7) then you'd have no problem with that.

Christianity is utterly empty. you have nothing to offer the real world.

  • @chilimaan You're free to believe what you want. And, you're free to reject God. But, irregardless, the Truth will stand and it will be to your dismay. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and there is NO OTHER. To those that believe, this will be a glorious day. For those who have rejected Christ and His truth, it will be a day of grave remorse and regret.

  • @proverbs1824 And what would you base that claim on? A prediction from a prophet you were supposed to stop paying attention to some 1900 years ago? (Deut. 18:22) You should read your bible. You're not even slightly convincing. I have no reason to even suspect that you might believe what you claim. If you could perform miracles (Matt 17:20, James 5:15, John 14:12) I would have reason to think you might be on to something. Instead; you offer emptiness.

  • @chilimaan It's based on God' word: The Holy Bible. And, this discussion is OVER!

  • @proverbs1824 There wasn't any discussion proverbs1824. There was just you making empty claims and false assertions and me calling you on them

    Christianity - Emptiness

  • @chilimaan We'll see how empty my claims are on the day we bow down before the Lord Jesus Christ and confess that he is Lord. I pray you have a change of heart by then. The TRUTH will stand!!!

  • @proverbs1824 When will that be?

  • @chilimaan No man (not even Jesus) knows the day or the hour of His return. Only God the Father knows. But, the Lord does give us signs that our Salvation draws nigh! Biblical prophecies are being fulfilled left and right. The European Union, the Rise against Israel, Wars and Rumours of Wars, Pestilence (like never before), strong and frequent destructive weather patterns (like never before), Governments rising against Governments (like never before), disease (new and stronger), etc.

  • @chilimaan I could go on and on. The world is in great turmoil like never before. LIKE NEVER BEFORE! I am not your enemy, Chilimaan! I try only to convey the truth to you. To love your fellow man also means to tell them the truth. THE WHOLE TRUTH. The Lord wants that NONE should perish, but have ETERNAL LIFE! LIFE! Not (eternal) death! I would like to see you saved. But, Salvation comes through Jesus Christ ALONE! There is no other way. I pray God will change your heart!

  • @chilimaan And, I pray He changes it soon, because WE DON'T KNOW THE DAY OR THE HOUR OF CHRIST'S RETURN. We must be prepared at ALL TIMES! Now is the time for Salvation, not tomorrow, or next week....NOW! This very moment. I hope you will reconsider your position on this matter. I really do. You are Loved. God really does care!

    with brotherly love,

    In Christ's Holy Name,

    Robbie

    Proverbs1824

  • @proverbs1824 Okay. I never asked you the hour or the day. I want you to tell me when the prophecy will be false. Okay? Do you understand?

You're just one of a long line of literally thousands over a period spanning nearly two thousand years who are all wrong.

Now; you insult my intelligence to suggest I'd think you actually believed this stuff; so, be a good sport and tell me when will the prophecy have definitely failed. When? Name a year.

  • @chilimaan None of God's prophecies have failed or will fail. Any prophecies that have failed have been made by mere humans, i.e., Ellen White, Mary Edy Baker, Joseph Smith, Juanita Bynam, etc. And, all prophecies are recorded in the Bible. Non biblical prophecies are just that. There are no NEW revelations! All God wants us to know has been revealed in the Bible (and only the bible)!

  • @proverbs1824 also the holy spirit gives the gift of prophesy

  • @matrixlone There are no new revelations! Any so called modern prophecies must be tested.....IT IS A MUST! All that God has prophesised is already recorded in the bible!!!! Again, there are NO NEW REVELATIONS!

  • @proverbs1824 A bunch of prophecies have failed. This is one of them. The very fact you won't put a limit on when it must come true demonstrates that you know as well as I do that it's not true. You're a liar Robbie. How many times have I asked for a date, a point at which you'd say: "Well, I guess it wasn't true."? There isn't one. The rapture's is going to happen soon? When? When will "soon" have expired? 2000 years isn't enough; when is?

  • @chilimaan any prophecies that failed were not of God.. The bible says to test all doctrine, all prophecy to see if it is of God! All God's prophecies have already been recorded in the Bible, and every prophecy has been fulfilled, though there are still some that have yet to be fulfilled(like the Rapture). All prophecies concerning Christ have been fullfilled: from his birth to his crucifixition and ressurection. (Read Isaiah). Outside of God's word....there are no new revelations....NONE!

  • @proverbs1824 You haven't any idea what you're talking about. Let's disregard the failed prophecies of Jesus and Paul and focus on one from Ezekiel 29:8-16 After his failed prophecy against Tyre Ezekiel prophesies the ruin of Egypt to the point no one would set foot in it for 40 years. This was again a total fail on his part as no such fate befell Egypt.

Don't you think you should maybe actually read your bible a little bit before just accepting the lies the Slick apologists feed you?

  • @chilimaan In Ez 29:15, the prophet says that Egypt would recover from a desolation (Babylon's attack about 2600 years ago), but that it would never again rule over other nations. Til the time of Ezekiel, Egypt had been a world power, dominating many nations, including Israel. But for most of the past 2500 years, Egypt has been controlled by foreign powers. Egypt is again an independent nation, but since the time of Ezekiel, it no longer rules over other nations.

  • @chilimaan In Ezekiel 26:3, the prophet said that Tyre, the Phoenician Empire's most powerful city, would be attacked by many nations, because of its treatment of Israel. At about the time that Ezekiel delivered this prophecy, Babylon had begun a 13-year attack on Tyre's mainland. Later, in about 332 BC, Alexander the Great conquered the island of Tyre and brought an end to the Phoenician Empire.

  • @james3v6 Ezekiel admits the Tyre prophecy failed in Ezek. 29:18. In Ezek. 29:10-12 he says Egypt will be destroyed. "No foot of man or animal will pass through it; no one will live there for forty years." The prophecy also mentions the ruin of the cities and that the Egyptians would be dispersed.

And it's also a total failure.

The bit about Alexander is just lame. The prophecy was for Nebuchadnezzar.

Is someone stupid enough to buy this apologetic?

  • @chilimaan and, God does not give dates, just signs! We must pay attention to those signs, and at all times be prepared! Christ can return at any time! The Rapture can occur at any time. What's needed are NOT dates, but patience and FAITH!

  • @proverbs1824 No. Christ can not return. The only way for the prophecy to be true is if it already happened; about 1900 years ago.

  • @chilimaan Suit yourself. I am done talking to you! Have a good life........and, I am certain you will remember our conversations, and those with others, on the day you bow down and confess before Jesus that He is LORD!

  • @chilimaan Robbie's probably a nice guy who's fastidiously honest in most things. But here, with his religion he can't afford honesty. He realizes "the rapture" isn't going to happen, but can't back down; so when pressed to provide a fail date he just won't. Given other failed prophecies he doesn't investigate them; he just stops talking and goes away. Maybe he's reading his bible. I've not seen much sign that that sort of thing happens with Christians.

  • It's wrong unless your god commands it isn't that what you believe? 1samuel 15:2-4 etc

  • @OpenAirAtheist Well there you get back to that whole murder/kill thing. Christians can kill all the unborn or even born children they want. They just can't "murder" any of them. Of course in their conception, modern abortion clinics, legal as they are, can't be murder. Catch 22; if they admit murder as the WRONGFUL taking of life; then they admit lawfully taking a life may still be murder. Since that makes it a moral issue rather than legal they want nothing to do with it.
