@allanz123456789 Be careful who you take info from... filmergreat has his info a bit wrong... It vanishes because it's no longer there. It burned up from the intense heat of entry into the atmosphere. The opposite of what allanz said, the 'fire' is created by the atmosphere, not extinguished by it. It only stops when there is nothing left to burn.

And the average speed of a meteor (depending on whether it is traveling with or against earth) in a shower is about 60000 to 120000 mph.. much faster

The chances of seeing that many meteors that look that similar and have the camera pointed in the right part of the sky to catch them... well the chances are incredibly low. and the Leonids didnt produce anymore than 20-25 meteors per hour in North America... thats over the whole sky with many being barely visible.
