As far as the arrest, I agree with Crowley, if your getting downright belligerent & throwing in racial comments too AND was warned several times. The issue isn't what is right. It's what is a criminal offense. I think police should be paid a lot more money for everything they do. I support a law that would allow the police to return the next day and present Professor Gates with a citation for abusive conduct against an officer in performance of his duty. Give him a ticket.

But if he wasn't a threat and he didn't break the law, the cop has got to walk away. Everybody who works with the public has to deal with jerks.
