My catahoula does this all the time too, only instead of growling she'll randomly smack me in the face. An if you tell her not to play with you or to settle down, she'll follow the letter of the law but not the intent, barely laying down and creepy-crawling towards you as if she is going to sneak in and play with you more..
my houla does this all the time too :) glad to know mines not the only major talker :D

oh my catahoula does this too. if i wrap a blanket around my head and make noises...she goes bonkers!
