Is that Annitsford at 2:19 seconds? I live in Annitsford, and its great seeing my house each time I fly over when approching from the East. I always get a seat on the left side of the aircraft. Damn i miss flying already, and I only got back from New York in March 2009 lol.
Fantastic video! I'm flying up on Friday and desperately hope we fly in the same way. It's the most amazing sight flying right down the length of the Tyne looking at our beautiful city! & I love the sharp turn over Tynemouth & Whiley Bay too!
Sorry 'bout that, freakystyley, wasn't room in the title to put "Newcastle Upon Tyne" If I'm ever lucky enough to fly to Newcastle, NSW I'll try to get a window seat and post a video of that fair city.
Brilliant video Howardsfair. By far one of the best landing films I've seen. I lived in Newcastle for quite a while, the video brings back a lot of memories. Especially seeing the tine snake its way through to the coast. I'm all homesick now!
Wow!! What a fantastic video! Newcastle sure looks good from up there!! You managed to capture every twist and turn that aircraft made, I could feel my head twisting from side to side when I was watching this!! This feels like the real deal! Excellent work that you captured the feeling when so many other You Tube plane landings have failed to do so...
Thanks for the rave review, ycartadnil! I always thought it was amazing to be up in the air, even though it's a pretty common experience these days. It never gets boring to have a window seat for me.
I always know I'm almost home when I see St. Marys lighthouse . Live in USA now ( 28 years )but grew up in Whitley Bay. Sadly tho I won't see the Spanish City on my next trip.
wow you still think of it as home after 28 years!!, and no spanish city any more, its a school, its becoming a right dump now, they need to sort it quick
Thanks for your comment, Euro. Also nice to hear someone saying "Brill" since I have not lived in the UK for 25 years! For me, this video means going home.
Geordieland is tops. All the times I went out for drinks, many years ago, no trouble. Unlike the morons in Darlington and Boro. Newcastle rules.
