My favorite Dead song ever! I love Black Peter! Wait that didn't come out right. lol Anyway I love that song and you guys did a great job as always. Keep up the good work. I've looked online for chords for this song and have not found anything very accurate. Could you possibly share them? Thanks for posting this!
Watching you guys for a couple of years. I can't believe this video has so few views. I know it's been said, but the harmonies are sick craazzy. Same with Africa and....
Those harmonies are bone chilling at the refrain. Alot of people wouldn't even have the stones to attempt this tune and you guys KILL it. I listened to Workingmans Dead today and when I heard this I was like...Mike and Jeff just take this song to a whole new level. Had to give it another listen. Such a POWERFUL tune and you guys nailed it this night. I have no more words!! Bravo!
Bar none the absolute best cover version I have ever heard! In a word STELLAR. I just found your videos tonight and they are all excellent. Stayed up for hours watching. You are truly a talented duo. In a pizza joint...un f'n believable. Look forward to more. Peace!
I play rhythm guitar and sing lead vocals in a Grateful Dead tribute band, and I always practice with your versions of Jack Straw, Black Peter and Sugar Magnolia. I commented on your Jack Straw video a year ago, and still go back to it. Keep it up!
I love this song, and you guys performed so greatly, you would have made Jerry himself proud. I am glad this is in the "related videos" to my Black Peter video, so that people can see how the song is ACTUALLY supposed to sound.
splendid-true reverence for the material, and the chops (and balls) to do justice to the greatest studio recording the dead ever did. somewhere in the ether, jerry smiles......
you guys nailed the bridge perfectly!..I think you need to work High Time and wharf rat into your setlist???

That's about as good a Black Peter cover as I've ever heard - nice! You've got "young Jerry" pretty much nailed down.
dershed 1 year ago
@dershed That's what I was shooting for. Maybe in 20 years I'll have "old Jerry" down. :)
