  • Surprised you haven't mentioned Rand Paul's little comment as well.

  • Republicans = GO-BP

  • Who the hell do they want to pay for all this clean up and claims?! They don't want BP do it, but, they don't really want government to spend money either and they don't want to contribute via taxes!! Oh how they would bitch if they had to pay a little bit more in taxes!

Do they thinking praying will work? Will faeries fly down, sprinkle their sparkly oil collecting dust over the Gulf and it'll magically go away?!

  • GOP has it both ways-- is it a shakedown or is 20B a drop in the bucket compared to revunues and doesn't matter much to BP? I've heard rants both ways, so which is it?

  • meen while israels got nuclear subs off irans coast UN small arms treaty not being talked about

BP is controlling the coast guard

also theres cracks in the WELL its self fissures spewing oil 5-20 miles away

THIS STORY IS MENT TO KEEP YOU DISTRACTED WAKE UP

  • there is not good news.. I am tried of people saying that we have good news.. 20 billion dollar is not going to do nothing to stop the oil flow.

  • This is exactly why I will NEVER EVER EVER vote Repugnican again!!! Fuck the Teabaggers!

  • @lowbottomranch

That ain't going to happen. In 2010 and 2012, the GOP will retake both Congress and the White House with Sarah Palin as our next and greatest president of all times! President Palin will completely undo all the damage that Dubya, Obozo, Bubba and every male president has created. By 2021 after Palin leaves office, the DEMS will be EXTINCT!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme you forgot to mention the US would also be extinct after having the most regrettably stupid politician that ever came down the road come to power in the Whitehouse. No matter, your side has fucked it so bad for so long its only a matter of time until the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

  • This would never happen under President Palin for she will ensure that no oil spill happen. Palin has the POWER OF GOD HERSELF and she will prevent these spills from ever happening. If BP spilled under Palin's watch and cross her, she will UNLEASH the WRATH and FURY OF GOD HERSELF onto BP and DRIVE it to the GROUND while EXPOSING Hayward's PUSSY for the WHOLE WORLD to SEE! Palin will keep the rest of the govt out of BP's business and will deal with them herself!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme She would swim down and suckle on the well head.

  • @ecwaufisxtreme You, sir or madame, are certifiably insane....

  • So wait, the republicans complain that BP giving the people of the gulf money is "redistribution of wealth", and then call on the taxpayer to do just that?

  • Really enjoy your videos.

  • @lowbottomranch ... some of the damage is permanent.

  • Actually, the claims would have never been paid. The fishermen and tourist operators would have gone for years and years and gone bankrupt and become homeless and simply faded away.

And the prime motivation for BP is NOT dividends for its shareholders, but giant bonuses for their executives. Just like Bear Stearns and AIG and the rest of them.

  • @dangerouslytalented What you have mentioned are my biggest fears regarding this money and it's distribution. It wont be fair or equitable.

  • @bertly71 My prediction: Halliburton (who caused the spill and own the company that handles this kind of disaster) will get a big juicy share of it, and get away scot free.

  • @dangerouslytalented Probably an accurate prediction.

  • If the criminal prosecutions get put on hold because of this fund, it was improper. If the money is doled out judiciously, it will be a good thing. If the Democrats don't raid it to extend unemployment payments like they tried to do with another oil spill fund, it will be a good thing.

  • @bertly71 The problem is, that the reason WHY these fishermen and charter boat workers and waiters and seafood chefs and so forth IS the oil spill. If Red Lobster can't get any seafood in, they can't open on monday morning. It is not just the businesses that are suffering because of this, it is the whole local economy, and those who are indirectly affected will not get any of the payouts.

  • Dear Mr Smart,

I really appreciate your insight, and your commentary is thoroughly thought-provoking. That being said, the 'OutraAAAge!!" shtick needs to go.

Seriously. As it is now, hearing the vibrato of the phlegm at the back of your throat, I regret being a fan of yours.

Now that you've established your trademark, you can just say the word 'outrage' conversationally, maybe with a raised eyebrow, and people would get the emphasis.

  • Shame on you Texas!

  • Any corporation that intentionally endangers their employees, destroys an area the size of a state, ruins the lives of millions, all to make a buck, should be held entirely responsible for it all. Not only that, but each of the top executives that took part in it should also be held responsible. If you ask me, they have got off way too easy.

  • @darktoadthesticky That is why it is a corporation: Corporations are a way of generating individual profit WITHOUT individual responsibility.

  • @dangerouslytalented As they say, The Perfect Crime.

  • @darktoadthesticky Better yet, be forced to work with the clean-up crew in getting rid of the oil.

  • @YaoiHuntressEarth

    A very good idea

  • hey hey hey.... im a Repub. and im all for BP paying for everything... and yes, i do believe the US has the right to DEMAND the money... if the IRS can take money out of a min. wager's check for back taxes, then we can take reimbursement money from a trillion dollar industry...

  • @TheWyatt007 The problem is, that those who are in charge of your Party do not tend to think so.

  • 20 billion is nothing to BP. The outrage is fake. If they don't act outraged, we might (rightly) start to think BP can easily afford more. Not to mention 20 billion sounds like a lot, but the gulf isn't going to be the same for decades, if ever.

  • @megamarsvin It is one years profit. If you believe their books, which are deliberately fiddled in order to reduce taxes.

Of course, the businesses in the Gulf Coast region will recieve no profits for years to come. If they survive at all.

  • not from our outrage?

  • The Republican party has finally shown its true colors. This is why I am proud to be libertarian. End liability caps and don't take responsibly but get all the profit corporate licensing.

  • @TheAtheistPaladin not all repubs thing the same dude..... thats like saying all Americans think the same....

  • @TheWyatt007

Only two are doing what they are supposed to. The rest scoff at them as they usually do. At 98% moron, I am pretty sure I am okay to say they are all morons because that 2% isn't going to save the whole party from its idiocy.

  • @TheAtheistPaladin The $20 billion is not capped. That is simply how much is in the escro account right now.

That being said, a company like BP should not have any cap to liability. If they can't afford it, they should not drill.

  • @dangerouslytalented

That is not awarded by the court. That something they willingly gave into themselves. But if they said "fuck you I am not giving a dime." The courts BY LAW cannot demand more than $10 Billion dollars for this incident. It is nothing more than a good PR move for them.

  • @TheAtheistPaladin I think it may be more than that.

Obama must have threatened something drastic.

  • @dangerouslytalented

What could he possibly threatened with? The president doesn't have the power to jail anyone or shut down any company. He president, not dictator. Their co-operation is nothing but good PR.

  • @TheAtheistPaladin if the average joe break the law the president will have the power to put him in jail...

    .

during the civilian rights movement the Government in the south did not want to comply with the civilian right laws that allow black children to go to school with whites/

    .

but the president use his power and brought the mp to force the law. so you are wrong ... the president have the military behind him...

    .

bp illegally put toxic chemical into the water now we have acid rain.

  • @loveallhappiness

The president can send troops for case of marshal law. That is not the same as having someone jailed and sentenced. That the DA's job, now the president can encourage the DA to take the case but that doesn't mean he can order such a thing. He can encourage the system to start the process of due process, but he cannot guarantee the punishment or outcome. So again, What could he possibly threaten with that is not already on the table?

  • Keith Olbermann on his show last rightly called the Republicans GOBP.
