Kick-ass tone, great phrasing and I really appreciate the right-hand technique. Very cool, Vince! Thanks for sharing. I'd love to snag one of those guitars sometime soon.
I got no complaints with the style of playing - it's a freakin Stratotone clone and that's a pretty specific market niche. My only grip is the distortion - it's a bit over the top, almost like a ring modulator on the bass strings. I would like to hear some clean(er) sounds.
@MrJONNcordwell I have been employed to play blues in my Airline demos, you don't pay me so I don't really care what you think... You wanna do your own demos mate if you wanna challenge people, but remember, just cos somethings 'new' doesn't mean it ain't shit! Good luck with that...
@dynocruiser but not everyone thats gonna buy this guitar is gonna use it for blues so we dont know how well it sounds playing other genres thats what i mean you're a very good guitarist but i just wish there was more diversity in guitar demos thats all. sorry.
Eastwood have done a good job trying to replicate the tone and feel of the 50's Harmony model but the Airline hasn't truly got the tonal magic of an original Stratotone. if you want a quality blues guitar with a good action and solid constuction then the Airline will serve you well.
The wooden bridge does slide around a bit but if you stick it down with double sided tape it solves the problem...
Finally,....Is there a huge difference between the eastwood and the original?
By the way, my concern about that kind of guitar is the floating woody tail piece, I am just afraid that the tail piece move during my playing in the middle of a set.
there are differences between both, very subtle..in the end, the airline seems to be very reliable and the tone quality is too close to the original. use good quality sound processing and youll do fine.
as for the tail piece,, as long as you dont abuse the guitar it will stay in place
That was awesome. Sweet playing dude. And the irony of you wearing a Gibson t-shirt while playing an Eastwood guitar was not lost on me. Eastwood sells that guitar for 499.00 and with Gibson you have to get a mortgage. This video shows YOU STILL HAVE TO PLAY THE GUITAR. Vince, you could make bailing wire stretched over a two by four sound badass. Thanks for the jam!
did ya hear about the guy who thought so much of Jack White, he brought an original Airline
(sold thru Montgomery Wards, the Chicago catalog house, back in the 60's)that was apparently close to mint to a White Stripes show, and GAVE it to White..now, THAT is what I call a fan! That 'lil axe yer playing here has a great funky sound,by the way.I believe
These things are so weird; They have a small, but veeeeeeeery dense body, and the necks are as thick as the body themselves practically. It feels like your playing a toy, but it feels really great. They are superb garage rock guitars.
Well guys, hold on to your hats... The guitar is plugged into a ZOOM digital palm effect unit going thru a Carlsbro PA amp. The unit has a 'Tweed amp' setting... It's the only tone I use when rehearsing etc. Don't think you guys were expecting that answer, sorry to break the mojo but the Stratotone sounds even better when played thru a proper tube amp. I will be posting a demo video of the new Eastwood Tuxedo soon... Vince
Nice playing man

What seperates you from the pack is a: your quality of playing and b: that goddamn amazing tone. I'd give my left nut to have half the chops you do.

Knowing Vince it'll be a Fender Blues Deville or possibly a Victoria Bassman.
Come on Eastwood, this is the guy you need to demo your guitars!!!
