Oh wow...I remember when I first got started doing hair, my very first salon I worked in discouraged any use of those comb/dryer attachments. We always used the rubber based brush you featured. Since then, I not only used that brush but the boar's hair round brush as well. You pick up little techniques from shop to shop. This is what's made me a "Silky Star" as well. Great channel!
i you ever come to Ft Lauderdale we sure would like to try the silk look. sometimes you want something different from natural hair, without chemicals.
@gigispaowner . Using a heat protectant is very important, many people think that using products will weigh the hair down, but that's not true. You have to choose the right products and not be heavy handed, a little goes a long way. I don't just style, I'm a hair care specialist.
I don't recommend the round brush because I think it puts too much tension on the hair. When the hair is wet it's in it's most fragile state. The hair will snap off very easily with the round brush when used on wet hair.
I use a denman brush when I blow-dry and it's good, but I still need to comb attachment as well. I use the denman to smooth it out afterwards.

@sweetbee06 I use a protectant on the hair before I press the hair, but I don't use anything except maybe a leave in conditioner when I blow dry.

Oh one more thing...how do you feel about using a round barrel brush to blowdry? Are those any good for body, shine & that silkyness?

Do you reccomend a pressing comb or a flat-iron for the silk pressing?
lavinialive 2 years ago
Flat iron.

Thank you for the info!!!

Now you have to make sure you press it after you blow dry it if you want it to be straight. Blowdrying is just one segment of the process.
