dude it was like 6am going almost 55 hours with no sleep so what if i mispelled something doesnt make me an idiot and i type over 80 words a minute!!!!
Awesome video! I was just going to say about the antennas moving while the wasp is dead! Where did you film this on the road? a parking lot? What pavement surface is this on?
@codecxo i thought it was, i mean, after all, i can't film this shit, before even getting close to it i would scream x.x i am terrified of stinging creatures, except scorpions :D
@codecxo how the hell did you hear them fighting? i cant even hear myself half the time. screw those two fighting, the man that recorded this is a fucking superhero!
@FreeRadical1015 not really, yellowjackets, also know as bumblebees, are pretty much just giant bees, the way a hornet is a giant wasp. so yellowjacket is to bee as hornet is to wasp
@pirate59315 Bumble bees are entirely different species to wasps. Bumble bees are large, hairy, solitary bees (most of which don't sting). Yellowjackets are a common breed of social wasp.
@pirate59315 No, they aren't. Not even close. Bumble bees are bees. Solitary, large, round, furry. Yellowjackets are social wasps. THey're not even the same species. Go look them both up at Wikipedia. Youtube won't allow links to be posted or I would post links to their respective Wiki articles.
yellow jackets are known to eat meat/flesh and are cannibals(in the wasp world) but the other day one landed on my hand and rested there until i picked her up in my hand then she flew off
Actually, I believe this is a Hornet. After stinging it's prey, it ruthlessly cuts off the preys' limbs and bodyparts. It then chews up the dismembered body into an easy-to-swallow mush, flies back to it's nest and regurgitates it into the mouth of a newborn grub.
I have to deal with those viscious little Yellow Jackets getting in my house everyday!! Yellow Jackets are also a species of wasp, for some reason people here in Michigan think they're a species of Bee.
The food in this video is not a wasp. The yellowjacket is eating a large fly. It is likely a species of biting Deer or Horse fly. look at the shape of the prey's wing in the early part of the video. Wasps have thinner wings, as a rule. Flies have wide, stubby wings.

Yellow Jacket is eating the high protein meat that powers the horsefly's wings.
Gruesome though -- since the fly's head is on the ground to observe the process!
Still...I think that fly is a nasty horsefly and those things would often bite me when I was a child playing at the lake!
