Friends and I have actually reached out and touched Roosevelt Elk as they walked by while hunting (heavy brush) it's an amazing feeling. When much younger we used to do ghillie stalks and took our chances at "deer slapping" (always good for a hoof kick until a broken arm encouraged us to switch to 6 ft. sticks not to hurt, just touch, no slap like with the hand) This gent (and cameraman) are a lesser Gods amongst we mortal hunters! Hunting is not killing but living a true moment of self or nature. Decision to not shoot a mother with calf but hoping she passes and does not do an alarm call and destroy the possiblility for a nice Bull moose. This video means more to this bowhunter than steak on the table BRAVO. As a traditional bowhunter, I also have had the moose to within yards and not shoot. Part of our hunting ethic.
