Ah, awesome this song is on YouTube. As far as I'm aware, this version was sung live in Bunkamura Orchard Hall (Shibuya, Tokyo). I'm guessing it could have been performed alongside the Live Symphony they did, as they were both produced/released the same year of '97.

Regardless, I love this song :) I don't usually hold Modernised versions of Classical Pieces highly either, but I guess being Evangelion I'm biased for it.

Naturally i clicked on this video just because the words "Canon" and "Evangelion" were in it, and i wouldn't have even minded that the song turned out to be rap if the song was actually any good. The lyrics not only make little sense but they seem like they could be made up by a 7 year old. "Whatever happened to the dinosaurs could make us all extinct"<--Really now? Actually its title is "Armageddon" from the "Vox" album of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Although a live version of it is in the "Symphonic CD 2" album of the same anime and is titled "Canon & Gigue (Pachelbel) rap version"
