  • vacuums with black holes, asteroid belts, meteors, star matter etc....~yeah, could be rough.Serenia, I hardly think people need a lesson on the danger of space~GREAT vid NASA!!!

  • In case you didn't notice, I was answering Applesweeter's question.

  • SWEET! I am going to miss the space shuttle program when it is retired.

Thank you Youtube! This is the kind of "reality TV' that we need more of. Sadly many people don't even know about the ending of the shuttle program and some don't even know of the ISS but these same people could name the stars of the latest relaity TV show :(

  • Yep, NASA are getting the hang of publishing photo/video material that increases public interest and support, but the ISS and the Shuttle are going to be history soon. :-(

  • I need to watch more off these video's,there so interesting I love it.

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love space travelling?

    (2) Why do we like space exploration?

    (3) Why do we enjoy the feeling of zero gravity and floating in space?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • I reckon everything we enjoy is basically our brain rewarding us for helping it in some way. We're designed to want to learn about everything....it benefits us.

  • we like finding the limits and pushing past them knowing more today than we did yesterday

and we like to think we can fly without wings.

We love doing all three at once.

  • Actually, space exploration is appealing only from a distance. We feel fascinated by it because it is a very unusual experience, the lanscapes are strange, and it's absence of limits gives some sort of feeling of infinite freedom. But the actual reality of space exploration is MUCH harsher et unpleasant than anybody could endure in the long term, both physically and psychologically. Space is an unbelievably dangerous place, and travelling through it is akin to walking across a battlefield.

  • Great views, but this video is over 1hr long! They could have speeded it up, or cut bits out.

    Lazy NASA :-p

  • I don't know if the NASAtelevision admin actually reads these comments, but if he or she does... when can we expect to see the hi-def version of this that was downlinked after the fact?

  • With the Earth in the background you really get a sense of how fast they are actually zipping around in space... awesome!

  • I don't, but I'm just supporting the commenter above me who reminds other people to the fact that it's not only NASA who made the ISS, I can surely name 5 space agency's who helped in the assembly of the station.

It's not important who made certain compartments, but what is important is the fact that the makers must be mentioned, because it's an international project, and everyone can enjoy the credits.

  • @Dragonlor140 Sorry. I totally agree with you.

  • why Flyaround?Too much fuel left for comeback?

  • @gs512 they fly around to take images and information and also during the back flip before docking they take images to check the condition of the shuttle.

  • Read the video description some time.

"...providing the shuttle crew with a photo opportunity of the ISS and its newly-installed Tranquility node and cupola observation deck. "

  • Would a rooster be confused in space? Put one in the cupola and run tests.

  • LOL! That would be too annoying for words to encompass.

  • That'd be a good opportunity to discover if chicken still tastes chicken under zero gravity.

  • Love the view at 20:00. Flying over my house.

  • Technology at its best...NASA is the best!

  • @jessylloyd47

Remember that the ISS is thanks to more space agencies than just NASA. It's a testament to what humanity can accomplish when we work together!

  • Yep. They could have put a sticker on the Cupola : Made in Italy.

  • @Serenia777

Indeed, I'm European and I'm proud the Cupola was Italian made, eventhough I'm Belgian.

  • We should send humans back to the Moon and on to Mars the same way... with the world's space agencies working together ... that would be somthin'

  • I agree. But it really seems like the private sector might be more likely to build a space elevator at this point, and I think that should be a top priority.

Space is a lot like the other side of a river, right now we're trying to jump over the river, but jumping back and forth over the river is not a long term solution. We need to build a bridge so we can come and go whenever we want, without having to take "breaks" in between jumps, and with less risk of falling in.

  • @BlackKingX

Yeah. The few times that actually happens.
