Wow this cover is pretty close to the actual song. うまい!
@halcyonextreme I'm curious after read those comments, how exactly did you find out the key signature? From ear, I could probably find the chords by trial and error and eventually the melody by trying to match the notes. How did you do it?! It seems like magic.
Essentially via the method you described. Once you've say, figured out all the chords and you're pretty sure they're right, you can many times determine the key signature by just looking at the chord the song ends on. If you have a fair knowledge of scales you can make a good guess by seeing which chords are sharp or flat and very likely build the scale from that. There's also identifying the tonic chord (look this one up). There is no single solid rule for doing it by ear.
My apologies if this question is redundant but is the tuning drop D and in the key of something else? I've been checking out other videos and tabs saying it's drop D but in the key of something else and I was wondering if you could confirm this.
@StormKing1 Tuning and key signature sometimes have a direct relation but its not a rule that the tuning would denote the key. If I misunderstood that part of the question then I apologize. Anyway, I chose D standard somewhat arbitrarily and found it to work out ok. Drop D and maybe even Eb standard would work out fine, too. As for the key, I just went back and played the chords since I didn't remember the key offhand. As far as I can tell it's Bb. Hope that helps!
@halcyonextreme Thanks for the response. I'll fool around with the tuning from EBGDAEb, EBGDAD, to EBGDABb and see how comfortable I am with each one of these tunings in standards.
@StormKing1 I think you misunderstood. When I say D standard I mean tune down every string 1 full step from E (DAFCGD). So then tuning to Eb (maybe its more proper to call it D#; I'm not well-versed on theory, but it wouldn't make a difference here since they are the same pitch on a guitar) would be tuning every string down 1 half step from E (EbBbGbDbAbEb or D#A#F#C#G#D#). You had drop D tuning right but the Bb tuning, you'd need to tune down the other strings a lot to match up properly.
@giansantiago I used a touch of tube screamer but it's not really what make that tone overall. If you're using a POD, I can post the patch if you'd like.
@halcyonextreme I've had this in my HOTD playlist since I first heard it, it's been on repeat for days now. Can't believe you don't have it anymore! Guess I'll just download the FLV and convert it. Thought it'd be a good idea to ask for a link or something first ;D
haha! I was hoping and somehow knew you would end up doing this. And if not I was going to request it. Good playing as always, hope I can get my ear trained that well too.
Hey, thanks a lot! I was mainly interested in the riff in the middle so I believe there are some other parts where I am off -- not counting general sloppiness. Maybe I'll do something with the full version later on.
tutor me .........haha...put how u play this less plz...i cant c the notes properly :P

@halcyonextreme Ohh I see now why I had it wrong. My tuning was right but on only one string. That clears things up. Alright thanks.
