This year i was in 4 leagues, and in 3 of them i had good quarterbacks while in the other one i had ryan fitzpatrick, i won 3 championships and lost in the other league's championship with fitzpatrick because the guy i was playing had drew brees. my RBs and WRs were good, i had Jimmy Graham and janikowski got me a ton of a points, but the 20 point difference from the qb position is what killed me. You need an elite qb just to keep up anymore.
@VirusXbeatsX Cam Newton's season was an anomoly. I mean setting records for rookie passing yards and qb rushing touchdowns? That's just insane. Newton is an amazing player to be sure, but i think the overall message was to not value rookie's too highly because theyr'e unproven and often struggle especially at the quarterback position.

I absolutely agree with the general strategy you described for the first few rounds. In my opinion, if you get a QB before round 4, you're doing it wrong. In one of my leagues, I picked up Matt Ryan in round 7. I think one of the biggest mistake that new comers to fantasy make is to not plan beyond the first few rounds. Those late round picks that add depth to your team are the ones that are going to win or lose most leagues for you. The first 3 rounds are pretty much automatic.

@78burrito naw its not but ...he top 10 this year so u gotta keep an eye on the draft and see if qbs are being taken early or u may have to get him early even if dont wanna reach that high
