Wow, a whole 1 second of close hold... though it was pretty horrible to watch that 1 second, so maybe that's why they didn't take hold. They should be forced to do the whole thing in hold.
doesnt look like foxtrot, i was wonderin when it was going to go into proper hold, went to dance comp yesterday, gold award which is where you can put anything in, was betta than this
I love dance, I do. I wish I had just a teeny tiny bit of coordination and balance and TALENT... so I could dance in my living room! ;) (Didn't someone say "if you can talk you can sing, if you can walk you can dance"? So not true!)
no need for back flip!!!!!!did not fit with the rest of the choreography! really not a big fan of this fake blonde guy i am afraid, he got moves but just hasnt found his own way to move yet.
Robbie had to drop out becuase he dislocated his shoulder :( Alastair is taking his place, but i don't think you can vote for him. Which just feels Lizzie, Charlie and Tommy in the final
Thanks! And wow that's really is impressive. I know from SYTYCD US that salsa dancers have a hard time switching to ballroom and contemporary is just nothing like ballroom. Thanks again! :D
take a good look people, this will probably be the only long dress we shall see in this series. Love Robbie! He rules! I thought those two had really good chemistry in that!
Go Yanet!!! She is one of my salsa dance teachers and I've always known she is an AMAZING & passionate dancer as well as a really sweet person. Finally her talent is being recognised on a wider scale. Yanet to win!! :)
Have to congratulate the BBC for bringing this show to us. It's going to be one of the cruelest talent shows though because all of these guys can dance (at least in the eyes of a lay person!) It's much easier in the singing competitions to tell if someone is out of tune than it is to tell if someone is out of step. But this show is wonderful to watch and I am in awe of their skill and tenacity!
All the judges were talking about how great robbie was in this piece...and he was ..and he is one of my favourite dancers in the show...but for me Yanet absolutely shocked me!
This is a girl who is trained in Samba...who was booty popping and all sorts in her audition...being able to be as smooth and delicate like this= outstanding! She did not get enough credit for this routine in my opinion... because I thought she was better than Robbie... also the backflip for me was unnecessary in a Foxtrot
the backflip seemed so out of place in an American smooth there was a dancer on SCD show that got marked down for a grotesque backflip on one of their dances i.e. Ricky Whittle.
@lisalilsmartass Lol. She's cuban, not brazilian. Trained in Cuba in all forms of dance - ballet, jazz, contemporary, hiphop and of course salsa.. not just "booty popping" (which for cubans comes naturally). Just check out her site.. yftmoves[dot]com. I am always in awe of cubans and their natural flair for dance. And I am not surprised at all that she mastered the foxtrot. :) But I totally agree - the judges seem to talk very little to her. I suspect it's because her english isn't so strong.
where did I say she was brazilian? I know she's cuban she said it in the show...
I know she has, unlike the some of the others, been trained in other styles... but still the contrast of her main style to what was asked of her her...was amazing! and she said in the show she had never done a foxtrot, so that's pretty impressive which
I was trying to point out...I just don't think the judges gave her enough credit... regardless of the 'language barrier' because her english seems fine to me
Well you said she was trained in samba, and samba being a brazilian dance form, I assumed you thought she was brazilian. No offence intended lol. Perhaps a mistype - I'll assume you meant salsa then?
Anyway I was agreeing with you regarding the judges, from watching each show, they have interacted little with her (in the parts that are shown anyway). I know her personally, and my point was that I had no doubt that she was more than capable of handling something like the foxtrot. :)
Loved the routine overall, but that back handspring in the middle has me scratching my head. For me, not only was it unnecessary, it broke the spell that they were weaving. . .their choreographer should have known better. Would also have been nice to see them in hold for more that 2 counts. heh
The routine is a bit more complicated than the one she does in the Malibu advert. ;-)

@TheTurtal Same, loved it but the dress was horribly distracting. Should have been more complimenting.

I obviously just found out..is this the best channel to view the routines?
