I've been out for about 10 seconds several times but it would take 2-3 minutes without oxygen to the brain to cause any brain damage. She was never even close to being in danger of dying. Not from the guillotine. This is not the cutting off of air, but of blood. That is why the young lady is out so quickly. And I am very suprised that the poster of this video isn't aware of that.

So enlighten us. What do you view as non-barbaric? When you add a critique make sure you preface it with IN MY OPINION. Because what is barbaric, not entertaining, not fun to you is different for others. Grappling is the worlds oldest form of physical competition. If you cannot see the aristry of the human form here, then sorry you wasted your time as well.

That fat fuck slob referee has no place anywhere near a MA event. He's more amateur than the fighters. Look at him standing with his arms crossed while one of the fighters is in a guillotine. I would take him of the mat and never let him back on as a ref.
Glad I don't go to events with idiots like that.

Likely just about any choke out is at least a little scary - and especially for the fighter who applied the choke.
Don't know just what the duties of a ref are, but the chokee does have the option to tap out - tho Carly must have applied the pressure in just the right place to put her opponent out that quickly.
Does seen like the recovery from being choked out can be fairly quick. Doesn't it occur now and then that a choked out fighter will continue competing on the same day?
