  • I'm from Los Angeles and I have a lot of love for Detroit, but LA is stepping in to break up this fight. Detroit, you win the music battle. Cleveland, I am sure you have many fine things in your city and I promise I will come to see them sometime. Yay Cleveland. But Detroit? You have a lot to answer for with the Insane Clown Posse. That's almost enough to negate the Stooges and Motown in one blow. Fuckin' music, how does that work? Sorry Cleveland, you still lose because you don't have Iggy.

  • In addition to above: Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl, Don King, Michael Stanley, George Stienbrenner, John Heisman, Eliot Ness, Thomas Edison, Joe Walsh, Harvey Pekar, Traci Chapman, Chef Boy-ar-dee, Wes, James A Garfield, Bob Hope, Paul Newman, John D. Rockefeller, Alan Freed , Langston Hughes , Molly Shannon, and my favorite- A Christmas Story! Just to name a few more :)

  • hahahaha all these ppl are either dead or close to it besides eminem

  • Have to admit Detroit does have great music talent.

  • hey jonney appleseed was from ohio...

  • you mad

  • @ 0:55.

Does it speak to me louder than his picture and music, that the new owners car is on cinderblocks?

  • @19Twholt But at least it's covered.. Motor City!

  • Other than one Detroit bash their video was funny and self deprecating. ("the other" than of course refers to the self deprecating, the Detroit bash was pretty funny). Clearly your civil pride is stronger than your sense of humor

  • That was horrible! If this video represents an accurate account of whatever creativity and sit comes out of Detroit, then that explains why it is such an easy target, I suppose.

  • Trent Reznor, of Nine Inch Nails is from Cleveland.

  • No matter how much you talk it up its still cleveland. Everyone loves Miami.

  • @3o5Miami Everyone loves Miami? Are you out of your fucking mind? Forbes.com took a shit on your city by ranking it the 2nd most miserable to live in. That place has a 13% unemployment rate, highest AIDS ratio in America, mortgage fraud capital, terrible sports teams, a tanking economy, failing school system, terrible motorists, lousy people with lousy attitudes, no seasonal changes, unreal public corruption, terrible traffic, and a non-existent sports fan base. Yeah, thats cool.

  • @bigdaddymatty17 quit trying to act like miami is so bad, you have beaches with clear water, malls, sexy chicks, palm trees all kinds of shit, cleveland and detroit are shit compared to miami

  • Opa-Locka, FL pretty much resembles Detroit. Matter of fact, Detroit has nicer looking homes.

  • St. Petersburg Fl is starting to resemble cleveland.

  • shut up, St. Louis sports beat Detroit and Cleveland sports.

  • Comment removed

  • Why do you say that? It's just an amateur video, going over the history of musicians and singers from Detroit. What is self serving about it? What is self absorbed about it? It's not a video about him.

  • OK im from Cleveland but now live in Chicago adn I will say Cleveland is a ok and messed up city just as well as Detroit is, both cities have history good but society makes it mostly bad, we all know the mid west is the most run down poorest part of America overall (Yes more than the rural south) we are in the rust belt but all the mid west big cities have famous people and rich history especially Detroit, Cleveland and Chicago.

  • The person who made this utterly poor video must be an self absorbed self serving jagoff

  • Cleveland has lebro.....

  • Atleast Detroit has produced music Gods.

  • This video should be called, "Detroit used to be awesome and I can't rebut the fact that it now sucks balls."

  • Both cities are holding on to the past which you should. I agree with preserving history but the hard truth is both cities have fallen on hard times. The question is how can they be restored to there glory days, or can they?? I personally being a history buff and loving old cities would love to see these two once great cities rise again.

  • Youre holding out on us now! Dont forget Mr Brian Warner from Canton Ohio now.

  • the only thing i know about cleveland is, drew carrey

  • Forgot Bob Seger, and Iggy Pop, and Alice Cooper, and...

  • Its so Funny how you are Arguing "What is the Worst city in America" I live in South Beach. :) We wanna Thank Cleveland Tho for Lebron :)

  • @3o5Miami thanks for losing to the mavs tho, proved a great namy points here in Ctown

  • Whoever made video this hasn't been laid in a very, very long time.

  • Wait a second. your argument is that Detroit is better because some people with a little bit of talent exploited as best they could in an effort to get OUT OF DETROIT?!!!

and yet, somehow these individuals from 40 years ago make Detroit better than Cleveland? the city is MUCH WORSE now than it was 40 years ago.

  • @darkc0w YOUR FUCKING STUPID! CLEVELAND IS NORTH EAST!!!

  • You guys are arguing between 2 Midwestern states! LAWL! looooooooooool

    You dumb Midwestern hicks

  • Arguing what city is better Cleveland or Detroit is like watching Helen Keller vs Steven Hawking in a boxing match.

  • A city being better than either Cleveland or Detroit is like being better at boxing than Steven Hawking.

  • @zetanato I'm from Cleveland and this still cracked me the fuck up!

  • Q:What do all of the celebs in this video have in common?

    A:They all moved.

  • lmao.

how about a music scene that hasn't been dead for decades?

    Oh, nevermind then.

  • The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? The Christmas Story house? Suburbs that aren't shitholes? I'm not from Cleveland but c'mon, it beats the hell out of living in Detroit right now. Not to mention it has far less Juggalos.

  • Most of these people (except M&M and Jack White) were from Detroit 30-40 years ago, when Detroit wasn't a shithole.

  • Doesnt change the fact that Detroit is a complete shit hole

  • everyone they named were like c listers (cept eminem and Aretha franklin)

  • @duanesassi Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, and Smokey Robinson... C LISTERS?!!? I think not!

    They didn't even mention Madonna!

  • All I know is that I'm not from Detroit OR Cleveland and I couldn't really be much happier about that.

  • We also have steve harvey, troy smith, ted ginn jr., mike golic, don king, john heisman, bob hope, the miz, George Steinbrenner III, cy young <---Id say thats a lot better than detroit

  • Well being from Ohio..Lets see, Cleveland has: Halle Berry Steve Harvey Arseneo Hall Terrance Howard Gerald Leverrt Don King Jesse Ownes Bone Thugs Kid Cudi Cheri Dennis Kym Whitley Judge Lynn Toler Wes Craven Drew Carey... just to name a few off the top of my head..Im sure if I researched, Trust me. I'd find more.
  • @bkjones614yahoocom Nine Inch Nails too.

  • @bkjones614yahoocom You forgot Lil Bow Wow...... XD

  • @bkjones614yahoocom OOOOOOOOOO I GOTTA GO TO OHIO and git me a HALLE BERRY !!!!!

  • @bkjones614yahoocom Cleveland Sucks Lets Face it Even Joaquim Noah Put you on Blast on National Tv. Lebron Left not because He wanted a ring but because cleveland sucks.

  • @3o5Miami lol cleveland is better than your shit city

  • @3o5Miami Dude, Miami sucks too. I would rather live in Cleveland over Miami because Miami is North Havana.

  • Comment removed

  • @bkjones614yahoocom i know right they only good one in detroit is marshall matters

  • @bkjones614yahoocom Most of those people suck.

  • @bkjones614yahoocom its still about the worst place to live on earth...

  • @bkjones614yahoocom Just having Drew carey though, makes cleveland terrible. None of the other names compensate for exactly how awful Drew carey is.

  • @bkjones614yahoocom Dont forget....Machine gun kelly.....

  • @bkjones614yahoocom im prettty sure you just indirectly compared Bone Thugs and Kid Kudi to Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye i mean i could totally see Gerald Levert but really ???

  • @bkjones614yahoocom you 4got lebron!

  • Kid Cudi is from Cleveland

  • What was the song from 0:00 to 0:12?

  • @nym685 tears of a clown

  • @nym685

Smokey Robinson- tears from a clown

  • @nym685 Smokey Robinson & The Miracles 'Tears of a Clown'.

  • Couple things, (1) Detroit is greater than Cleveland in three areas: the dying American automotive industry, old Motown musicians, and amount of poverty. (2) Both cities are terrible and are battling for last place, Chicago is the big winner in the area. (3) Detriot is so bad that when Cleveland made a video making fun of themselves, they felt they needed to make a comeback video? What?? Thats the dumbest thing I've heard of since someone nominated Sarah Palin as VP!!!

  • Lol, the Cleveland video was pretty much dissing Cleveland. So I can't really say you should make a come back. We have some notable music... Bone (one of the best selling rap groups and collaborators in history). The OJays, Dazz Band, Nine inch Nails, The Outsiders, Tracy Chapman, and Dean Martin to name a few. We have bigger musicians from other parts of the state as well.

Detroit though wins in music, I'd say.

However if you want to compare actors and comedians, that's a whole nother story.

  • @RyokenX5 If you honestly think Cleveland doesn't win when it comes to music scene you need to get out more.

  • cleveland has superman...

  • @terrelleee and the creator of spider man

  • you'll get you ass kicked in cleveland.

  • lets see, cleveland has: MGK, Chip Tha Ripper, Kid Cudi, Cory Bapes, Al Fats. thats just to name a couple rappers. now for the bands: Mushroomhead, Seasons, Ruled By Reason, Hathaway, Fallen Captive, Along Came a Spider, Solipsist, Taken By Talons, Below the Tide, Salt the Wound, Terror (not the LA hardcore band), State of Conviction, S.O.S, Inhale Exhale. so to say that music is not clevelands forte, is completely ignorant.

  • @gremlin0890 Yeah, because all the acts you mentioned totally compare to what has come out of MI, not to mention Detroit in the last, oh, I don't know how many years. Gimme a call the next time Ohio produces something along the lines of Iggy and the Stooges, or the MC5 or you know, the whole Motown sound. Everything you mentioned sounds like third rate crap from the Gathering of the Juggalos. Mushroomhead? Seriously? You are going to put that shit up next to Michigan's musical history? Please,

  • @gremlin0890 of everyone you just named only Kid Cudi is famous

  • How is this a response. The point of the fake Cleveland tourism videos was saying that Cleveland sucked, and the video was a joke. Besides arguing over which city sucks less over youtube videos is pathetic. At least the Cleveland guy was original.

  • someone in detroit just went around taking pictures of houses for this video...

  • Dude Yeah That Rocks? I am literally dying right now. This is probably the funniest shit I've ever seen in my life

  • You forgot Tim Allen, kid rock and uncle kraker got started in mt Clemens which isn't much different than Detroit now and they were born in Michigan

  • hahaha, eminem is garbage

  • "Two can tango Cleveland, stick to videos, music is not your forte"

Really? Is that why we have the rock 'n roll hall of fame?

    NIN.

    Bonethugs.

    Kid Cudi.

    U.s. Bombs.

    Thats what i thought.

  • Methinks at least 75% of the people you showed no longer live in the neighborhoods you paired them up with. Marvin Gaye, I'm, like, 99% sure of.

  • Im not from Detroit and I LOVE IT! It has so much culture. Much love to the D!

  • Sure, many parts of Detroit look like an episode of "Life After People" but seriously Cleveland, are you even going to pretend that you have the same awesome musical heritage? This isn't even open to debate.

  • at least wer not cleavland

  • Can we just agree that these are the worst KNOWN cities in America. There's much worse. Just go to south Warren, OH and try to NOT die.

  • Marvin Gaye is from Washington, DC;

  • Marvin Gaye is from Washington, DC;

  • Cleveland is still better

  • I'm from Los Angeles and visited Detroit for the first time last summer. Sure, it's fallen on hard times to say the least, but it's got an amazing history, and the aura of great and terrible beauty. As far as music goes, Cleveland is a joke. Detroit wins by many a mile. May it rise again to it;s former glory, And even if it doesn't. it will always be better than lame Cleveland.

  • @subrosax Cleveland sucks. Detroit sucks. Their equal no need to argue about it. speaking of which the whole thing of who is better just reminded me ,and i'm sure others, that both of those vast wastelands even inhabit two legged walking beings. Old glory? Don't make me laugh, as if. Congrats ,you must be proud to be somewhat relevant.

  • @DirtyLittleSecret96 I assume you speak English as a second language. Neither Detroit nor Cleveland sucks, and yes, they are both inhabited by "two legged walking beings," What an amazing observation. I wish them all the best. Detroit is just a bit cooler, in my humble opinion. Not sure what you mean by "somewhat relevant." Is that like "very unique" or " a little bit pregnant?"

  • Great! I'm glad a rich history of music is more importnant that jobs!

  • @rabble000 Not only that, most cities > detroit+cleveland and we'll even throw in Toledo.

  • or at least the first one. right before respect

  • what are the songs you used in the video?

  • HA HA HA HA HA HA HA LEBRON LEFT AND CLEVELAND CANT GET OVER THAT. HEY, IVE BEEN TO CLEVELAND, I COULDNT STAND IT FOR EVEN A FEW WEEKS SO I DONT BLAME LEBRON FOR LEAVING AND MAKING A NATION LIVE VIDEO TO CELEBRATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @imkingofkings007 .. Lebron is not from Cleveland, Hes from Akron and the section in AKRON where hes from, THEY SHOOT POSTAL CARRIERS DOWN THERE. He only PLAYED for Cleveland.

  • @1968yoshi Akron is a suburb of Cleveland. Everyone knows that.

  • @1968yoshi Akron is a suburb of Cleveland. Everyone knows that.

  • @redonk3honk More like the skid mark smeared on clevelands ass

  • cleveland may be a toilet but detroit is th the sewer

  • @REDMAN4701 Damn straight, C-town is a single toilet, and D-town is the shithole where all of the toilets empty into. Its a good thing that detroit has 20,000 white people there, or their great hockey team would have no fans!!

  • Toronto > detroit+cleveland

  • @bullscott12 most cities > detroit+cleveland

  • Who does Cleveland have?

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

  • come on... cleveland doesn't even have a NHL team... detroit wins. hands down.

toledo even beats cleveland :) GO ROCKETS!

  • George Steinbrenner too.

  • Cleveland- Drew Carry, Michael Stanley, Halle Berry, Fred Willard, Bone Thugs, The Dazz Band, Kid Cudi, Arsenio Hall, Tracy Chapman, Debra Winger, Margaret Hamilton (The Wicked Witch from Wizard of Oz), Wes Craven, Paul Newman, Don Shula, etc.

  • white stripes ftw

  • cleveland is my home

town and it is better than detroit

  • Clevelamd > Detroit

  • The spinners are also from Detroit, What happened to the Drew Carey show or Arsenio Hall? They got canned for sucking.

  • @HansXWS Drew carey is the current host price is right.. I dont kno wut arsenio hall is up to but hey, he is from Cleveland!!

  • Bob Seger, Kid Rock, ICP, Iggy Pop also from Detroit. Alot of these people still live there, including Eminem. 15 NFL players also hail from Detroit, much more than Cleveland. Gee, who is more popular, Eminem or Bone Thugs??? who I had not heard of until now. Also, Magic Johnson is from the Detroit area and won 5 NBA titles, 5 more than lebron who can't win one without teaming with today's MJ, D-Wade. All the people on the Cleveland list are washed up now and and Lebron bolted.

  • @HansXWS you never heard of bone thugs? you must be a middle aged white man (wich is fine, not going racist on you) eminem is more probably more famous but Bone is a hip hop group that has also sold over 35 million records!!! is Halle Berry also washed up? wut about Kid kudi? yea, Lebron left but he is still from Cleveland

  • Whos from Cleveland?.. Bone thugs n harmony, Kid Cudi, Ray Cash, Avant, Gerald Levert, The Ojays, Wes Craven, Halle Berry, Arsenio Hall, Steve harvey, Lebron James (Akron/Cleveland suberb), Drew Carey, jesse Owens and yes Eric carmen to name a few.. theres a ton of celebrities from CLEVELAND.....where has Detroit been?

  • @jakolcoshisbluelow Did you even need to go past Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony?

  • @DLGFTW problably not!!lol

  • Notice that none of them had jobs in the automotive industry

  • Was that a car up on blocks at 0:51? Good one Detroit.

  • They're all black o.O

  • lol detroit! im from cleveland and they both suck azz!!!

  • thats not all cleveland has ..bone thugs. halle berry. drew carey.trent reznor started his music career in c town..arsenio hall..la wanda page(aunt ester)paul newman.tracy chapman wes craven.burgess meredith..thats right. yo mick was born in cleveland.and last but not least the cleveland steamer.ha ha ha top that detroit.

  • Jesus, what's the point of making a video to "fire back" at Cleveland when the videos you're responding to were making fun Cleveland?

  • Nevermind that like....a quarter of your city is abandoned wasteland resembling something out of Mad Max.

  • Oddly enough Eric Carmen actually lives about a mile away from me and I work right down the street from a music shop that Eminem worked at for a short time when he lived out here... Oh and Alan Freed coined the term rock n roll here in cleveland in the early 50's. you're welcome.

  • WHO MANY OF THEM STILL LIVE THERE AGAIN?

  • You only forgot about... Halle berry, Steve Harvey, Arsenio Hall, Gerald Levert, The O`jays, Bone thugs n harmony, Avant, Lebron james(Akron,Ohio suburb of Cleveland), Jessie Owens.......just to name a few

  • @mikeohoh7 And what city are you from??.. I bet you dont even want to answer

  • the last part was funny other then that, that blows

  • Lame...not funny...

  • Detroit is a dump...

anyone who makes it big usually leaves Detroit and the dump that exists there...

  • @xyberfunk Thats what I plan to do :)

  • music is not our forte? kid cudi, chip the ripper, shaq?no not shaq.

  • Everybody is from somewhere simply because they were born! The only thing that matters is where are they now?

  • funny, very good comeback!

  • the only reason stevie wonder lives there is because he can't see what a shit hole your poor excuse for a city is haha

  • they loved detriot so much they left, nice video but your helping Cleveland

  • i love detroit!!!!im never gonnna leave this place

  • yea, liveD in detroit. liveD.

  • ALICE COOPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Riocoolnes He lives in Phoenix now LOL

  • You left out Detroit's greatest band, Iggy and the Stooges.

  • ever notice like two thirds of this list are from the 1950's and 1960's

  • boooo motown

  • haha some people from Cleveland are really pissed. But the only cool think in All of Ohio is Ceder Point. lmfao:)

  • Ahhh, the good old days. Isn't it great to reminisce? Your video failed to include the mosques and people that danced in the street on 9/11. Yes, they did. There and Dearborn.

  • atleast were not cleveland there economy just went to miami

  • @shawn863 Who inaugurated this joke? I have seen it multiple times today?

  • To the maker of this vid: U DA MAN! Honestly detroit may not be the richest city out there but i can bet u a milli that people "down south" as u say are more depressed than detroiters. Detroit built this country and put it on wheels, how dare u hate on what made you!

  • @48212Art and then detroit carjacked it.took it to a chop shop and sold everything for some mad dog 20/20 and a black n mild .

  • @jay112273 doesnt change the fact that detroit is the reason why the WHOLE world runs on wheels.

  • @48212Art fail at saying intelligent things

  • Cleveland has: Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, Trent Reznor, James Gang, Michael Stanley, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Kid Cudi, and Tracy Chapman. Plus even Cleveland's economy is still better than Detroit's economy.

Plus, a lot of those artists (mainly R&B from the 60's and 70's) had Motown Records to help them out. They are now enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in CLEVELAND.

  • Cleveland

    Trent Reznor

  • that was a nice list of many people that went to detroit from the south, and a few who left that dump to come back to our southern dump.. yeah we see you around town all the time, jack black

  • No, the funny thing is, thy really are poor'er...er. stupid poor people, stupid poor people, i got more money than you. stupid poor people, stupid poor people, you cant even buy food! now thats funny!!

  • Cleveland

    Kid Cudi

  • ouch but marshall mathers is just as gay

  • AND... they all left Detroit

  • At this point it's more of a toss up as to whether I come here for the vids or the laughs following reading all of these comments:P

  • Marvin Gaye's house has a car on blocks by it.... LOL

  • We had a lot of great musical talents in the past, now we have M&M doesn't that kind of suck for us.

  • @TheRightRules eminem is a pop wigger.ha ha ha ..people fell for his cry baby songs about his sad little life.and his tragic mama drama issues.i never did care for eminem.he only made it big because of dr dre.

  • Now if you wish to make a comeback at the Cleveland video, please make a funny song, not some song clips and a bunch of damn pictures you got on the internet.

  • That is a very impressive list of people who LEFT Detroit.

  • @Elparvar

WOW, truth be told. Left or dead. Good list, great music. Pity no one stuck around to help their home town. Even Aretha is only here part time.

  • @Elparvar ouch

  • @Elparvar

Would you like some win sauce for your complimentary win steak, sir? It's on the house.

  • @Elparvar - Not true, a few of the Motown artists you see still live within Detroit city limits, and a couple others (e.g. Eminem) live in the burbs. That's a pretty impressive retention ratio considering the state of the city/metro. But seriously, with the exception of cities like New York, Chicago, and LA, what other towns can boast that they retain a significant number of their homegrown talent?
