  • I have the pale skin of my european ancestors. My hair is black, eyes brown. I tan a dark reddish brown, but not easily. I am diabetic, have to shun the sun. I have three g'parents with half or more blood. (maternal grandma was a full blood) What you get genetically is really the luck of the gene pool roulette. 2 sisters with dark hair/ eyes/olive completions. I brother with blonde hair/blue eyes. It goes to show. We are the only people who have to carry a card to prove who we are.

  • come on peoples think of what the future generations will say about

the modern people today. One can not know the truth of the past and the dead. it is only the fantasy of the living who can not see themselves as souls.

  • indian's created basketball

  • @midpopcorn really o-0

  • @midpopcorn no...lacrosse

  • If My mother is 50% cherokee indain and my Father is 50% cherokee indain does that mean I'm 50% or 25%?

  • @MidnightQueenz9 You would be 50%, you got 25% from your mom and 25% from your dad, therefore 50% combined.

  • why is this guy trying to sound like christopher walken?

  • Im an Australian and my great grand mother was a full blooded cherokee

  • I am of Cherokee descent from my paternal great-grandfather and his family; this video is very inspirational to Cherokee and people of Cherokee descent. :-)

  • i've been told that my great great grandfather was a cherokee chief, how do i know that's the truth? my mother told me this and also my grandmother, is there a way i can find out for sure? i want to test my blood line and trace my heritage

  • Great video! My grandfather was 1/3 Cherokee (not an exact fraction) but looked like a full-blood. I'm about 8 or 9% through him & am proud.

  • My great great grandfather, Johnson Ketcher, was the first full-blood Cherokee to become a Deputy Marshall. My great-great-great grandfather, Tah-ne-yun-ta (Running Deer) was a Trail of Tears survivor. I have researched my heritage back to the 1500's and am very proud of it!

  • english is an illegal allien lenguage buil a barrier against it cuz is a WETBACK LENGUAGE.......,

  • i love the cherokee people, every year i take my wife and kids to cherokee to have fun, and most of all visit an elderly cherokee man that we met a few years back, he treats my kids like they are his grandchildren, hes a true family friend, and basically a part of our family.

  • i am only a little bit part of the Cherokee tribe. we learned about them in school :3

  • "Evil settlers like the Americans." What does that mean? The Natives that were here WERE the Americans! Was that statement meant to mean whites that settled here and took the homeland from the natives? Before European settlers came here, the 'indians' were the true Americans. I grew up being told that I have Cherokee ancestry from my dad's side. I have started a genealogy project to document it for my own kids:) I think it's important to know where you came from and to honor your heritage:)

  • SALUT

pour tous ceux qui ne prennent que ce dont ils ont vraiment besoin.

  • The guy doing the southpark type voice is just annoying... the kids speaking hesitate a lot, and the audio quality varies wildly. If you were playing around I guess this is nice, but if it was intended to be a good presentation, it's really lacking.

  • Why dont they say. The Cheroke did this and did that...and NOW the REMAINING ones live in a multitude of different places and do many different things and are unable to live the way they would have and have lost much of their culture and much spirituality has been stopped due to the death slaughter and mistreatment of people. Its ironic that Americans call their country multicultural when many races have wanted to kill each other there and that the first culture was in fact nearon wiped out comp

  • my mom is a quarter indian, and my dad is a little bit under that.. so I don't know how much that makes me..

but mostly irish, and scottish from both sides of my family, and a little bit of german.

  • @brizzlestick I think that could mean you are american. And that you anscestors raped and ruined Indian culture?

  • @nicepandas why would someone ask this bizzare kind of question?

  • Whoever did the Gomer Pyle voice during the "hunting and weapons portion of the video is a genius! That sounded just like him!

  • my ancestors were proud people till the white eye came and took their homes

  • @TheJaydog1122 What the f is "white eye"? Who doesnt have white eyes? Are you fully descended from Indians?

  • @nicepandas Yes...i'm full Cherokee.

  • @TheJaydog1122 You are? I am fully descended from humans.

  • I am a member of the American Indian Movement, I encourage people, if they are interested in learning about a Native person or their culture, Go To Those People and Respectfully Ask Them To Please Teach You, show respect. This is the ONLY way to learn about other people NOT through the stories of white people that don't know what it's like to live as a Native person. Also, WE ARE STILL HERE! Please stop referring to us in past tense. We are real People Alive and Intelligent, talk to us. Miigwech

  • Cont. 4 of 5 There were two cousins one more to the liking of whites than the other due to his ability adapt. He became the Congressman John Ross and later a chief even at time where Indians weren't completely accepted in the White society. This is the story of the Indian Removal Act of 1830 which stress the removal Cherokee from their terriortory to south of the Mississippi. Ross was the voice of the Cherokee people because alot of them at that time couldn't speak english nor did his father.

  • Cont. This would be to there end because during the time Andrew Jackson he was not fund of Indians of any kind and quite frankly whites that shared the sold off Cherokee Nations territory saw them as being beneath them so much so a marriage between a Cherokee Indian and white female settler was protested. He John was a member of Congress and helped the nation become a nation within America. Even though the Cherokee didn't want to give up their territory they eventually moved.

  • Cherokee Indian mostly those mixed with white enslaved Africans/negros. There was a high percentage at least 70% of the Cherokee who were slave owners. This came as a suprise to me because it seemed Indians were all in the same ecomonic situation but the Cherokee were a privelged few. There were some that rejected the way of life of the European settlers but others fell into the scheme of gaining an education, learning the English language and adhering to Christianity.

  • i say nice work and i might have to learn about my religon from the cherokee indians also well my class is doing a native american porject and i have to build wat i look up :P so i might have to be learned by you guys :P anyways this is actully a 5th grade porject for my class and well i think iam going to build a house just like shown were it said homes so :P wish me luck people!

  • @815Rider Good Luck with your project!

  • Good job

  • The kid doing Walken at the beginning is epic. Is this for a school project?

  • @Roadstar1602 Yes. This was for a school project.

  • Very well done kids!!!

    Thank you for sharing that!!

  • Mr. Webber, I apologize for the senseless argument that has broken out on your informative video. I’m sorry that one poster who claims to be an impossible fraction native and a talker of truth, resorted to using crude words to ladies who only meant to help him understand an error in math. When a true Cherokee man says he is ‘done talking’ you can trust him to keep his word.

  • Overall, a good report, Mr. Webber and crew! I don't think the bow was used that much for fishing, though. Study up on that. Traps and natural poisons were the best way to catch fish. And you didn't mention blowguns! I love them.

It's a shame you had to use non-Cherokee images, like the birch-bark canoe and headdressed 'chief'. I love the use of the Eastern Band's commercials for Cherokee NC at the end!

  • @13Naru13 I am very sorry about the non-Cherokee imagery. I did my best to incorporate as much of it as I could. The images were hard to find. And I did the best I could. Thank you for your input.

  • @webbergrant thank you i am cherokee mix im very proud of the work you did

  • @1PhatHarleyOwner thank you very much for that. We had a great time making it and learning about the tribe.

  • why are these young ppl reading impromptu? why didn't they practice so it wouldn't sound so rough?

  • A bloodline i'm proud to have flowing in my veins

  • @ledzkreep thats the same way i feel

  • Wait, nothing about Tsalagi blowguns?

  • this is very interesting and i also find it kinda funny especially around the hunting part of the video. im proud to say im about 1/4 or 1/8 cherokee and you can see it in me greatly.

  • I would like to know those who think I look Native or not because I was told my father is 1/8 Native and my mother is 1/6 Native. I would like to know if I look like I am Native American in any way to you.

  • @NewRevolutionLeader I know that my great grandmother was full blooded cherokee and my mom was half leaving me with like 1/4 not including how much indian I have on my dad' side because I don't know that. If you have high cheekbones I know that is a for sure sign that you have some Native American in you. I would just study their faces and see if your face is anythign like their's.

  • @NewRevolutionLeader No one can be 1/6 anything. How you look isn't what really matters. Being a native is from the inside, not the outside. Our bloodlines mean little, since most of us live in the 'American' culture. Let us all celebrate the proud history and continued success of the Ani Yunwiya and learn from them.

  • @NewRevolutionLeader dude, noone can be 1/6 ANYTHING unless you are inbreed! each person has 2 parents each with 2 parents of there own. You can only be in bloodline of 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and so on. Also I happen to be a redhead and I am part Cherokee. around the 1/32-1/64 but still part but I look like my irish side who married the Tsalagi so what you look like really does not matter whats in your blood! Genetics are a tricky thing. You need to stop be rude and ignorant.

  • @NewRevolutionLeader MrsDEjr and 13Naru13 are correct, even if your native heritage is on both sides. If the dad is 1/4 Cherokee and the mom is 1/2 Cherokee, the child is 1/8 from dad and 1/4 from mom, or 3/8. The bottom part of that fraction can never be divisible by 3. And guess what... I learned genetics in school, too. I've also known some extremely intelligent janitors in my lifetime.

  • @xavionite Your both wrong because it can be more than 1 person on both sides who was indian and white it's not like grandparents do not exist and just fathers and mothers. You both know enough to look dumb.It was all a estimate but it can still be true knowing that I am white, jewish (ethnic), and Native it's possible if it's possible to be 1/12 indian, then it's also possible to be 1/6 one thing especially if people in your family are mixed.I'm done talking to you both I do not need proof.

  • @NewRevolutionLeader Sigh. I have better things to do, but I'll try one more time. Meanwhile, why don't you show some respect and stop hurling insults? In my example, of course more than 1 person on each side is Native. How else can Dad be 1/4 or Mom be 1/2?! The denominator will be 2, 4, 8, 16, etc. (keep doubling); never 6! Now, out of respect to the students who posted this video and never wanted a comment war, I am done with this discussion.

  • @xavionite You act as if every family member in my family is fully something so that's where you get these denominators like that but you fail to realize just like me there's people in my family who are more than 1 type of people dumb dumb.I"m through talking to you and I've already had discussions with college professors about this and have had them both tell me it's possible to if people on both sides have more than 1 type of people in them you my friend are wrong just know that.

  • @NewRevolutionLeader I do not believe Xavionite was saying your family is full anything. For your mother to be 1/6 she would have to have 6 grandparents instead of 8. Yes I know it is possible for your mother to have Cherokee on both sides of her family but that still would not make a 6th. Out of my great-grandparents I'm 1/4 MO, 3/8 IN, and 3/8 KY. I have 3KY &1IN from my mom and 2IN and 2MO from my dad. That is how gentics work. No other way! I'd love to chat with those professors. TY.

  • @mrsDEJr Actually no she wouldn't have to have 6 grandparents she would just have to have grandparents who were more than 1 people you people are seeing just 1 person 1 race but it's not like that many people in my family including grandparents are mixed with different types of people and if someone can be 1/12 something then someone can be 1/6 something and like I said I was throwing a random number out there because I am not 100 percent on it but no more replies from me done talking truth.

  • @NewRevolutionLeader Know your facts before spouting them online! If you are not sure how native your mom is you should not say. All we were trying to do is comment on your math in gentetics and tell you that what you look like has nothing to do with all the many cultures you are, Like I said I look Irish but that is one of my many cultures. Now let's stop arguing off topic to Mr. Webber's video.

  • @mrsDEJr - This is how others race lost their hertiage and way of life, pale skins come learn our way and later start claiming it as their own and we end up not knowing who we are in the future because pale skins is now the only Naitves. Look at the Hebrews, look what happen to them, pale skin took their land, claim thei land, changed their Holy Book and say they are GOD chosen people. Now they killing more innocent people right now today and this is how pale skins works.

  • @mrsDEJr - The ancient Natives are not light skin, look at ancient pictures that would be the real natives and now my people are mix blood with every race. Remember it was pale skins that took our lands as well, why is it so important to be Native??? we are not rick people. If you read your Holy book we are also Hebrews as well as the Latinos, Islanders and Blacks. Look at the ancient pictures and ask yourself if you look like you are related to my people that are not mix blood.

  • @QueenEiliYAH Also I never said anything about looking like the Cherokee. I'm saying to NRL that your looks have NOTHING to do with your heritage. I embrase my Native AND Europian heritage. I just happen to be able to visit Cherokee and make friends with many of the locals. Maybe you should make more friends and learn about others before judging them! I wish I could claim ANY one heritage but sadly I am too many to do so.

  • @mrsDEJr - If you are related you are related to the Latinos, Blacks and Islanders we are the same. According to the Bible pale skins are Europeans and you are the Gentiles. The Bible is where you need to find your roots not in any word man says which are untrue words. In Genesis 10:1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. Start here and then you will know in the end who you reall kind to. Wado.

  • @QueenEiliYAH first off I'm American which means I'm a mix of races. I LOOK Irsh but I have many cultures I can claim. I love my Native history! Also I'm a Messicanic Jew which means I know what the Jews are STILL going through. By the way not JUST pale skins are taking thier land. They're fighting the "cousins" (according to the Bible) to be the choosen people in the Holy Land of Yerushalim! I never said only pale skins ar enative. I have MANY friends dark as ever who live in Cherokee.

  • @mrsDEJr -Not true, no true blood have red hair and pale skin. I hear more and more pale skins claiming to be Cherokee and not look Cherokee at all. Pale skins think they are the only race of people that are Natives and no others. If you look like a pale skin that's what you are Natives has color in their skin we are not pale in color. Native dont have blone hair, I seen many pale skins come to Pow Wows and wonder why others dont come. I talk to friends I know are Natives they tell me why

  • @QueenEiliYAH mrsDEJr and others, please view Cherokee Nation: Cherokee Ancestors by utubecherokee. Looks and color have almost nothing to do with ancestry. We are all God's children. Israel is His chosen people. This video is a tribute to the Principle People, not a soapbox for other matters. Please respect them and Mr. Grant who posted this video.

  • @mrsDEJr I know! I'm 1/16 Cherokee and scotch Irish, German and English, but for some reason I look Arab.

    Genetics are really weird!
