She had six top 20 hits in Britain and did fairly well in the albums charts and was also successful in Europe. Lynsey's main strengths, apart from her looks, were in writing for other musicians, writing music for television shows and as a popular guest on variety shows. Her volume of television appearances in Britain in the seventies made her appear bigger in the charts than she was. However, her looks and famous boyfriends in the early 70s kept her in the papers.

lynsey was good but had little to do with the music of these artists.

without brenda lee,connie francis,cilla black,dusty springfield,shirley bassey.....

tori and kate were helped a lot by artists like joni mitchell heralding in consistent success with non mainstream pop and writing most of it too.

Sorry to disagree, but it has to be said that Lynsey wrote all of her songs and was initially compared to Carole King. She is still writing songs for other artists and has success with non-mainstream pop too. By the time she became a reluctant performer she had already written songs for Jack Wild, the Fortunes, Dana, Continental Uptight Band, Cardinal Point, Spencer Davis Group, Del Davis
