I think this video is wonderful. Is it possible to get a higher quality version, thought, it's hard to read the words, and they are so meaningful. It needs to get viewed by as many as possible. And yes, I am against a casino coming to Gettysburg. Let's keep the most important and historic small town in America with the character it currently has. Respect others opinions; they have their right to them. But to me, this will harm the area, both it's history and economy, not help it.
Proponents keep pushing more jobs as an incentive for this travesty. I keep asking "what jobs?" No one can give me an answer. Also, no one cares about the 80 or so families who will be displaced from their current residences which sit on this location. It is a no win proposition all around. Pick another location, Mr. Levan. There are plenty which don't even come close to this sacred ground.
It seems that the casino supporters would give a reason as to why they would pick this location. It's really a shame that all these resources that must be used to fight this casino can't be used to a better purpose.
You guys who want this casino really need to rethink the whole issue through. It won't bring jobs. It kills them. It won't lower taxes either. Huge numbers of people including innocent kids will be harmed, and you all with them. The casino business should never have been legalized . That means piffle. Add the loss of profile and culture from a place that has the best history in the US, You would have to be nuts to want a casino in Gettysburg.
A casino so close to so sacred and special a place...is sad. The ground is hallowed by the blood of thousands, and should remain the place of solitude it is...not with the distractions of casino lights. Is history of the area of so little importance anymore?
This is well done...a casino 1/2 mile from so special and sacred place where so many died is sad...Does history really mean so little to people? To some of us the battlefields are still the burial grounds of ancestors. Why ruin the sacredness of the grounds with casino lights...there are other places away from Gettysurg that can house a casino....
