I'd like to see Sully play himself. Otherwise, I would have wished Paul Newman was still with us as he would have been great in this role. Tom Hanks with gray hair possibly? And as kunkunaku said... Harrison Ford.

I've asked myself this same question about "Who could play Capt. Sully??"

How could you make the character riveting enough to hold an audience's attention, while delivering the calm demeanor of the pilot, and at the same time, capture the low-keyed essence of the man??

Aircraft was fitted with "slide rafts" .. slides that can be detached and used as rafts.

Regulations require rafts if the aircraft is flying a certain distance from land .. varies from country to country.

Thank God for that crew and for the wonderful pilot and co-pilot! Nothing more impressive than knowledge and being able to use that knowledge to accomplish something great. I'm also not surprised that Sully is a humble man. Most great men really are.
