I wrote on another video that I think Vanessa and Maurice were falling in love with Sonny and Brenda as S&B were falling in love and you could definitely see it come across in every scene they had together. For Guza to mess that up because he had an agenda for Sonny is unforgivable. The only thing that derailed his plans is Maurice leaving/returning and Vanessa ultimately leaving. I shudder to think what they would be if she had been on the show all this time

Well, Guza is responsible for the writing in this clip. I believe he was co-head writing the show at this time which was just after Labine left. Anyway, my point was that he started that whole bullshit about their love being toxic along with all the other cruel habits that he saddled Sonny with during this time. You can kinda see him loose his vulnerablities and become less dimensional. S&B started their redundant and destructive cycles then, too. Those were the differences I noticed.

During the time inbetween this scene and when S&B reunite both had grown so much and learned from their mistakes. I loved their story because it showed how each character had learned and grown but still loved eachother, in fact even more than before. Part of their appeal was watching their characters grow and evolve and find eachother again. S&BFOREVER!!!!

What is so heartbreaking when I watch scenes like this is that she really believed that he would come back to her no matter what. To her the love they felt for each other was so strong it could outlast everthing and everybody. I felt the same way when I watched this then. I always waited for S&B to get back together. When he finally left her it took a long time for me to forgive him. (Marrying Carly didn't help...LOL).
Agreed. I have never liked Carly and I doubt I ever will. That situation was so forced for me that it was unwatchable. I've been in and out of GH for years because of that travesty of a pairing.
