No doubt one of the greatest comedians to ever live. Also, one of the few black comedians to this day who could draw whites and blacks alike. If you were ever lucky enough to see one of this shows, think back to the audience. It was always about 50% black and 50% white. I can't think of any other black comedian who could pull that off. Not even Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor
As a white kid who grew up seeing Redd Foxx as a junkman, I was shocked to see later what a baller and straight up pimp he really was.
Watch the Della Reese interview on the producer's mistreatment of Redd Foxx's on the Royal Family. The guy pissed off Redd Foxx s bad he had a heart attack, then disrespected his wife at the hospital. Not something you'd want on your resume. Reese didnt name who, but IMDB says it would have to have been Greg Antonacci or Mark McCalfferty
@brbacz....I was privelaged to see Redd foxx, probably a year earlier at the Hacienda, he was funny as Hell, had the audience rolling. I honestly believe that between this shop, The Royal Family, and another Comedy Tour, perhaps with Slappy White, Lawanda, and others, he could have finished his debt. He is deeply missed.
I find that the most talented aren't the most commercially successful. Redd Foxx deserved more. I don't blame him for walking out during Sanford and Son. However, I glad he returned.
what a crock of shit!!!! this man works his ass off and at 65 finally is allowed some success then they lie to him and tell him he owes them some money when it's not the law to participate in taxes for wages, who are the real criminals in this world? IT'S NOT THE LAW, THE TAX CODE READS, "VOLUNTARY COMPLIANCE", i dare anyone to actually read it or look into it, 70million do not participate already, fed or state, this is your wake up call
Poor Redd. So many years of making us laugh. I wish he could of stuck around a little longer. There should of been some type of celebrity benefit to help get those savage internal revenue officers off his back.
Where's the vid of his last day, when his interview w/ "This is Your Life" interupted so he could do a task anyone could have done? He was really f-cked over on his last day. His famous "This is the BIG one! You hear that Elisabeth! I'm comin' to join ya honey!" sadly helped contribute to delayed treatment, when everybody thought he was crying "wolf". I'm not sure if it's for his dignity or to shield those who contributed to his life long angst.
You was the luckiest man on earth, what I would have given to just walk in and meet the cast in one place. Red Foxx, LaWanda Page, Don Bexley, and of course Whitman Mayo. Thank You so much for your upload of this moment in time. My God Bless you and all the cast members of " Sanford and Son ". Man you made my whole day....
Here is the thing, our government wants to steal money from those that work so they can give it to those who don't. In USA and also abroad, that's the reality. That is your tax dollars at work. It goes for everybody else but you who pays it.
@koletski21 I'm producing a comic book biography of Redd's life (UNauthorized) in which I'll be revealing that very thing... that the IRS is illegal and unconstitutional. The Supreme Court confirmed this and allowed for a LOWER court to shoot down that ruling! FRAUD. Foxx was not a tax cheat. He was a true NON-ENSLAVED American who enjoyed life and would give anyone the shirt off his back, and if he was here, he'd tell those who have call called him this to F off ;)
@koletski21 I'll do my very best to post some notes about it prior to release, but it will be released through comic book company Bluewater Production (they can be Googled, as they do many other biography titles), but COMICS is MY series, and we're looking at releasing this Feb-March 2012, just prior to tax season ;)
On a side note, the book will be dedicated to Aaron Russo. He can be Googled, also.
WOW! ! ! !! i sure miss him , he was my idle ,, i glad i grew up with his shows, i still walk around today an talk like him an do his arm thing like hes fighting,,, FOREVER MISSED,

Technically, you are correct.

Technically, his last video was the interview he was conducting moments before his death, but I like this. :)
