This is exactly my situation. I'm 20 and i recently got my cartilage pierced, I paid for it with MY money that I earned on MY own and my mother makes me take it out. I got it done again and I have to hide it. I want an industrial bar and my lip pierced, but good god, my second piercing...my parents told me to go live in a trailer park. Now I love my parents but they're so high strung they think i'm doing this for attention when I just really like the look!

I am 24 married and a mother, and my mom still pulls stuff like this to the nth degree. My daughter is 2 now and my mom still says stuff like, she eats solid food now right, she isnt still drinking from a bottle is she? And she will ask me this over and over no matter how many times I tell her even if my daughter eats a sandwich over HER HOUSE that SHE MADE for her. Next week shell call me asking about solid food. i just think parents want to feel like they are still needed.

I am 24 married and a mother, and my mom still pulls stuff like this to the nth degree. My daughter is 2 now and my mom still says stuff like, she eats solid food now right, she isnt still drinking from a bottle is she? And she will ask me this over and over no matter how many times I tell her even if my daughter eats a sandwich over HER HOUSE that SHE MADE for her. Next week shell call me asking about solid food. i just think parents want to feel like they are still needed.

Welcome to the rest of your life. You do have the right to be irked but never forget that it is coming from a place of love. You're at an age that straddles youth and adulthood and too often parents get stuck thinking of us as the naive, defenseless kids we once were as we to break free of their "nest". Hopefully, once you're out on your own, she'll calm down a bit. And then she'll only needle you when you go over for visits (ah, the holidaze). Hang in there, kiddo. We hear you.
