I couldn't find anywhere in the Scripps rules that say the speller isn't allowed to laugh or have a sense of humor. Some words are funny. I give the kid credit for bringing life to a otherwise somewhat dry broadcast. He should be commended for having a personality and spelling the word correctly. I'm betting the judges loved it as well. Nice job kid, you taught me how to spell sardoodledom. I hope you become a teacher someday!

Calm down, I would have been laughing it's no huge deal that the kid laughed when he got the word "sardoodledom" as a spelling bee word. I bet he did try to spell it the best he could!
