Really wish I had the money for something like this, it'd probably make one of the coolest mini kitchen appliances for the garage! Or as a display piece for a show car
specs of this engine by what i can here is. firing order is 1 2, rpm range somewhere between 8000 and 12000, hp is 5 to 7 and turqe is somewhere around 6... this stuff might be wrong but thats what i hear it from.
The intake runners and intake design with the front center mounted throttle body reminds me of the GM TPI or LT1 style engines. They had the exact same intake and throttle body configuration.
This engine sounds a lot different than the older conley v8's. This one sounds really good and by the sound should have a lot more power.

Very Kewl. I was one of the first people from my state, to have an actual V-8 engine from Conley Precisions. Ordered my first disassembled kit in June of 1990. Kit arrived in October of that year. The second engine I ordered from Conley was in March, 1996. Came assembled with Blower installed. Last firing was in summer of 96. Unfortunately, all the molds got destroyed in a fire, hence the new V8 design.
The new 609 Stinger uses actual gasoline and has more intricate details.
@conleyprecision hello , i was wanting to know if that engine would be powerful enough to power a 1/4 scale monster truck engine which weighs around 80 lbs
@baptistedeschrevel Sorry, when i seen this comment it reminded me of the 1/4 scale gravedigger rcwizard is building. I have a feeling the standard conley v8 is going to be too weak for that project. That's why when you asked if this would power a 1/4 scale,80 pound project..i said "prob a few other people are wondering too"...
I would also like to see some hp numbers for these small engines..
@conleyprecision hello gary , or mr.conley if you prefer , may i ask you something about that oil pressure gauge , a friend of mine is looking for rpm , oil pressure and other gauges for his 1/4 scale monster truck , and i'd like to know if it was possible of making and selling him those , that small size impresses him and he told me to ask you if maybe you could make them and sell them to him , he uses an old conley v8 for this truck and really likes to put in details ... thank you
These lil motors are so cool! I would love one. They should try shrinking a briggs &Stratton lawn motor engine by the same scale ratio. Kind of pointless but it would be challenging and so tiny! Make the whole lawnmower & you'd have the worlds first and smallest gas powered shaver! LoL.....Yes I know I'm getting carried away.
did Conley Precision once make a V12? I would have loved to buy one, I ask this beacuse i saw a video of a Conley V12. the poster of the video said that Gary was pleased to see it running... but i cant tell exactly if it's a real Conley or not
This video shows the prototype engine running with the optional high duration camshaft. After measuring the compression ratio it was discovered to be about 10.5 to 1. These two items make for a nice sound but rough idle. The standard version will have a milder, "street cam" installed and the compression lowered. This compression ratio will be significantly lowered for the supercharged version.
Unfortunately, small parts does not necessarily mean small prices. If I were to build millions of engines the cost would be lower. When I only build 50 engines at a time, it is difficult to make them cheaper. I hope that you understand.
It is nice to know that some individuals, like yourself, do understand just how difficult building a small engine, really is. Just because it is small, unfortunately does not make them cheaper.
@conleyprecision yeah man its sme much harder to make a tiny lttle pushrod or piston or valve.. lol so what if its less material i dont even whant to know the time you have invested in these things amazing work man!
@conleyprecision it makes them cheaper to make... but the demand for baby v8's is incredibly small so the retail rice is driven sky high to make up for lack of sales....
At the present time I think that the normally aspirated version should put out about 6hp at 10,000 rpm. The supercharged version should be closer to 10 hp. Stay tuned.
wow i thought this company went out of business, man i could remember when they were doind dodge viper v10s, i don't anybody bought any though, the foundry that they made the v10s at caught fire and they lost all but one motor.
The fire not only destroyed all the molds for the V-10 engine but also took all the molds for my standard V-8. The really bad thing is that there was no insurance to cover the over $350k loss. For the record, Chrysler did not give me two crate engines. They did however give me a partial engine with all the major components on it.
