well.. i cannot help you, because i'm using vbox on linux and i have no experience with using vbox in Vista or other windows.. But you can try to cut your XP iso in nLite, to get light weight system and then install it into virtual machine...
what is your settings for it? i have xp in virtualbox but it is really slow takes almost 5 minutes to get to desktop. My host os specs are: Windows Vista 32 bit AMD Athlon Processor 2650e 1.60 GHz RAM is 3 GB ATI Radeon X1200 video Card and my guests settings are Video Memory is 128 MB 1401 RAM VT-x/AMD-V enabled Nested Paging enabled 3D acceleration enabled any ideas of how to make it faster?
Well.. first u have to know, if ur graphic card supports 3D effects.. if yes, then its easy.. Ubuntu has in default options, these effects enabled.. U will maybe need to instal packages like: compiz-config-manager, fusion-icon to set what effects to use and to turn on/off effects.. Some things, can be harder to set, but after time, u will find out, how to set it all :)
wave can help me please is that I am going to install ubuntu on my laptop so I know how to activate the 3D effects on ubuntu if I can do please please thanks
I have used some things from gnome-look, but all was changed by me.. I'm going to do some pack with this look in few days.. I just need better cube caps with black-orange colors and some adjustment of emerald theme..If some1 has some nice black-orage (or black-gold) pictures, what i can use as cube caps, pls send me that :D
It's easy.. I just installed VirtualBox..(u can try all OS in this program..) U can't play games by this way, not that new ones(cuz no 3d acceleration support).. But it's good for IM or another programs, what u know from windows.. For gaming it's better to use Wine :-P
btw, my laptop is Sony Vaio VGN series - dual core 1,5ghz, 2gb ram and intel x3100
