Jeff Munn's voice (PA announcer) still echoes in my head to this day (I was and am a Magic fan living in Phoenix - and was eagerly anticipating a Suns-Magic finals): "Three point goal Mario Elie, assist Robert Horry"
yoyo devean3, if you wish to develop in basketball, you ought to start following a legit exercise system. I used the nba training routine here at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com |. I didn t even tell this to my high school teammates yet lol
devean3 dude, I gained past 15 ins on my jump by finishing the workout system over at "50inch vertical (dot) com". now being able to dunk is something I don't have to worry about in basketball finally, heh
just like how that Olajuwon block on Starks at the end of gm 6 of the '94 finals was the biggest "block" in Rockets history, that Mario Elie 3 was, and still is, the biggest shot in the history of the Houston Rockets. I remember seeing that game and me and my dad were jumping out of our seats when he made that...
Damn you Mario Elie!! That's still hard to watch since I'm a Suns fan. This and the John Paxson 3 pointer in game 6 of the 93 finals are hard to watch. But I give credit where credit is do. Both were championship teams
How nice would it be to have a 'Kiss of Death' Shot - Part 2 against the LA Lakers in Game 7? Well, I guess it doesn't hurt to 'dream' every now and then.
Ok so they didn't win, but its not like they couldnt. I wouldnt say the team now is crappy either. I mean, mario and kenny were not considered to be STAR players. Drexler was past his prime by then so who knew they would do the amazing things they ended up doing. heart of a champion....believe in your team no matter what. either way, i'm very proud of my 08-09 rockets. They excelled my expectation so now hopefully next year we can get better.
most of the time whenever the rockets play the suns during the regular season they play this game on NBA TV. the title is "NBA Hardwood Classics" and they play a ton of great games. i have it in my DVR and you should do the same when it plays again
the best come back into playoffs history regarding the nba in my lifetime. big shot bob, ellie, drexler, and olajuwon, just gravy. kenny the jet smith bullard, chilcut.
Seeeee this just proves how unfocused the suns corporationnnnn is they think theyre the fuckingg best teamm and start whining after the playoffs like little bitches because they cant hold on to a fuckingg leadd
Even more disgraceful though was 1994 when they won the first two IN houston yet still lost the series in 7.
Man the suns could have and should have won at least one title from 93-95. And what's funny is in 2 of those years, it was Ainge that cost the suns. He left Paxson wide open in 93 and Elie wide open in 95 (granted 95 wasnt the nba finals, but none of the teams that the rockets played next after the suns took them to 7 like the suns did).
The whole key was that Barkley couldn't just bully the Rockets' PF's around with Hakeem in the paint. Their strategy was to let KJ get loose and hold Barkley in check and Chuck had a bad series both years.
