i just tried this on my project and its a miracle, part with capture noise print, i have constant noise from my camcorder motor in silent enviroment. this help'e me a lot, tnx for great tutorial :D
Great tutorial, it would be been quite cool if you would have made us hear the sound file with a "before" and "after"...
solid work, nevertheless... I have been searching all around for this answer... my camera makes a squeeking sounds (I guess it needs maintenance) which I need to get rid of... !
nice tutorial...I have been trying to find some intro stuff to help remove a hum from a fridge in my latest film. This should be pretty helpful... Thanks!
I tried your technique to try to remove microphone static, but static sounds does not stand out like a car alarm or cell phone ring. Is there a way to remove static or am I S.O.L.
Great question and one that is so often ignored by video-content creators.
Seriously, buy the best mic you can. People pour thousands into their cameras, which last a few years before the tech is old. Mics last DECADES and are a great investment!
I love Sennheiser, but there are other brands that do well. Do a search for "microphone reviews" and read up. It's well worth it!
@mrudge i need to buy mic for my sony dcr-trv460e (pal) old old cam but i love her :) any recomandations, or where to look/find mic for it? can noise be maid becouse i keep reusing my tapes, about 20 times i shoot on one tape, can that be a reason?
Thanks! This was PERFECT. I mean, like magic! Thanks a lot for posting it.

Seeing as you're so good at soundbooth.. did you deliberately edit your voice to sound like zzirgrizz for hits? ;D

@OnyxMediaGroupLLC
Use the part of the tutorial that starts around 1 min 30 sec. That is how to get rid of ambient noise, like room noise or a bad/cheap microphone.

Awesome man. Thanks for the walk through. I've used soundbooth very little. Had no idea it had a lasso tool! :)
