  • The comments on this freaked me out. It wasn't even that bad!

  • Well I WAS gonna sleep tonight......

  • oh man, that was freakin great. But I'm gonna have to go with Unloved though. Im a sucker for dark, creepy, disturbing, and just plain weird. But this was fantastic. Good job

  • That was fun. Haven't played the game yet but its on the list after the Fatal Frame series... Since we're on game 2, we're almost half way there. If the game is as fun as this was, then yeah!

  • spot on guys, keep it up.

  • Not the most technically impressive short film, but it had a pretty good ending!

  • so kool i was wiki'ing eternal darkness i totally ddnt knw they had a short film contest when i was a kid XD

  • So...I picked up Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem a few days ago and found out about this film and Unloved through the wiki entry for the game. I agree with the general consensus. While Unloved was surprising and sort of creepy, this film completely freaked me out and had me glued to my laptop monitor. Outstanding job, guys. They say it takes about 12 years or so to make it big normally and I think that you guys are almost there.

  • Thanks for that comment we are on year 8 since this film so lets hope we can beat the average ;)

  • @ronsterfilm

Actually...it's not much, but check out the Campus Movie Fest and see if anyone is willing to participate in it. Knowing you guys, you would definitely advance pretty far in the competition. Their site is campusmoviefest(dot)com and they provide participants with a 1080p Panasonic camcorder, an unlimited AT&T cell phone, and a Macbook Pro with a ton of music to use, plus Final Cut Pro. I hope this can help you guys somehow. If you're in NJ, I participate with Rutgers.

  • that chick was hot, and the main dude looked like he could have been freddie prinze jr's brother.

yep, thats my comment, nothing about the film itself, the game, nothing. im such an asshole. :D

  • imo way better than unloved really gives you that feeling kinda like your sick really good

  • This is way better than Unloved imo.

  • about 8 years too late.....ha....no we won the audience award....we just didn't win the whole thing and get a career out of it....but maybe we will some day ;)

  • @ronsterfilm Hey, with a few more films like this, I don't doubt you guys will make it big some day. Where are you based out of?

  • we are in San Diego and LA.....we had a few shots but came up short....but we shall see...I think in the near future we might knock one out of the park and make it happen....here is a link to another short we made a few years back that got us some big meetings...but again we didn't make the right moves back then....ha..

  • @ronsterfilm Hey, don't worry. I've had the same problem as a writer. You just gotta keep tryin' and one day you'll make it big. At least, that's what I keep telling myself XD

  • won't let me post a vimeo link....need to go to vimeo and type in ronsterfilm

  • Killing Time is the short film

  • @ronsterfilm Hmm, I'll have to go check that out. Btw, I've been interested in making short films of my own recently, but I really have no cinimatographal experience. I don't suppose you could give me some pointers? Mabye we could even im?

  • that was absolutely fantastic

  • 'None of us actually played the game...' -1

  • that was awesome :D

  • I don't see any connection between this and Eternal Darkness but it was an awesome short! Kudos!

  • @radio8008 It didn't have to. The contest stated specifically that the films did not have to directly correlate to Eternal Darkness, just have a psychological thriller/horror theme to it.

  • Work of genius, not best acting but still this is great to watch!

  • This is damn good short. Perhaps the big leagues are calling out to you.

  • nice short film, i liked it ;-)

  • Is it just me, or did the bathroom scene seem heavily inspired from the infamous bathtub scene in the Eternal Darkness game itself? Also, the, "This can not be happening," sounds awfully familiar.

I loved it all the same, though. Kudos to you.

  • we didn't reference the game in that way. None of us played the game we only read what the game was about. So we tried to make the idea around certain elements of the game but not referencing any actual scene from the game.

  • @ronsterfilm you guys did good even though im still scared of stuff like this i still have the guts to watch it (me scard..... WRONG) and the eturnal darkness reference the video game characters screamed it. the only thing that would get me to lose it if this was going on and the video game crashes (which it showed it did) it was under their breath not screaming. also do you think it could happen in real life if someone lost their sanity like that?

  • Good stuff, I really enjoyed this. I hope you continue to make more films.

  • we actually were going to make a feature version of this movie like 3 years ago but it didn't work out....but maybe one day we will....

We are trying to make a different feature now....thanks for the kind words

  • Although I liked this film a lot, maybe even more than "Unloved" I do not think that it was as in keeping with the mood of "Eternal Darkness" like "Unloved" was. Still, this is a really great short film and I enjoyed every second of it.

  • I can't believe people still comment on this film. We made it 8 years ago....time flys!!!!

  • Well, when something is good and enjoyable it retains it's appeal.

  • thank you that is very nice of you to say.

  • The link to this video is on Wikipedia, expect lots of views forever ;)

In related news, I loved it.

  • well made for a low budget short film, the odd ending matches the air of Eternal Darkness perfectly, a bit campy though

  • A bit of this is somewhat campy, but other than that , you've done a very good job. The story was innovative, and I did not see that twist coming.

  • The acting reminds me of the FMV sequence at the beginning of Resident Evil.

  • For a short film, that was very good. I give the makers thumbs up.

  • Wow, this is so cool and creative. I'd love to be able to do stuff like that!

  • The scariest thing about this movie is the acting.

  • touché

  • Reminds me of "Indigo Prphecy". Possessed killings and all. Awesome game. If you liked Eternal Darkness, you should like Indigo Prophecy. I do believe your film was better than "Unloved". Should have won. Unloved is still good though, just ot Eternal Darkness-ish.

  • Odd that we are getting feedback 7 years later on the piece...but it is nice to hear. The director of "Unloved" has done very well for himself as a commercial/music video director. We are working on our first feature. Thanks for the kind words on the "The Cutting Room Floor"

  • Dang dude im a wuss that ending freaked me out when he closed the door xD

  • It's disappointing, the winner of the overall contest, Unloved, didn't remind me of Eternal Darkness AT ALL. The cutting room floor, on the other hand, was SO much like it. The sanity/insanity meter (the most enjoyable and unique part of the game) was going off like mad there, it was awesome.

  • yeah we thought we captured the essence of "Eternal Darkness" ...I really wish we would have won the whole thing. Since then we almost got a feature version of the script off the ground but we ran into some bumps. We have put that to the side and are working on our first feature film called "Elevator". It is a thriller set in an elevator.

  • Youtube doesn't do this film justice! PUT IT IN THEATERS I TELL YOU!

Amazing job on this, guys! Conrats on winning the contest :)

  • We won the Viewers Choice Award; not the whole contest.....which was great...the guy that won the contest actually directs big videos now....we on the other hand are struggling but trying to make our first feature.

I will let you know when it gets out there....its a thriller type movie called ELEVATOR! Thanks for the nice comment

  • Can't wait, no problem :D

  • I love the image at 4:54!

  • Great job. I saw this years ago for the Eternal Darkness thing, but was reminded of it recently somehow and searched for it.

  • glad you found and hope it held up for you....can't believe it has been 7 years since we made this thing!!!!! time flys

  • mate that was awesome! why do turds like jerry bruckheimer and uwe boll keep geting to make shite when u can do somthin like this for two grand?

  • thanks so much for the compliment....the film was actually made for 4k....I believe we put in some of our own money but it was shot on 35mm film.....We definetly want to make a feature film soon...it has been a while....cheers and thanks for the kind words

  • I mean, winning the viewers choice award, I wrote it kind of weird xD"

  • Wow, you were definitly worthy to win that contest!

Brilliant video and you really think until the end that there is some kind of ghost haunting and killing.

Great, better then some professional movies!

  • awesome man

  • *claps* Well played good sir, well played

  • AHH I WAS RIGHT XD It was XD The quote "This..can't be happening..!" from the game "Eternall darkness" WUHU! XD you should make a big film like that ^^

  • Ll this wan something to do with one of my fave horror games XD Eternal Darkness..

  • Thats amazing!

I'd go on about how I loved how he had only used scissors, so it showed how he'd had to be aggressive, but anyway, I think you get the point.

  • Very nice film in all respects, though the poor guy was totally set up. There's no way he could have been outside to answer the phone call without his friend hearing him. And what's a "gaffer" in the film business?

  • a gaffer makes the tea ;p

  • WOW!! This is one incredibly-freakin'-cool vid! Beautifully shot! Beautifully edited! Super-fab writing! DAMN!! FIVE STARS FER SURE AIN'T ENOUGH, BRO! *****

  • Wow! I love this video, great acting, great plot, impressive twist! Simply awesome!

  • Who played the blode girl...shes hot

  • Fantabulous! Creepy, loved the twist! Reminded me of Eternal Darkness.

  • This was the runner up to the eternal darkness films competition.

  • you should try the clip 'lucid horror' on my acount if you liked this. this one is better, but its ok too!

  • verry nice twist indeed. verry verry well done :D

  • wow that was excellent! nice twist too.

  • Another great film! Love the concept, love the execution.
