I used to hang out at Fryfogels...damn I miss that place. They tore down the whole block and built a fucking mall....where this bar used to be is now an "outdoor reading park" for the library....
aawwww.... memories... thanks mickey.. for the best era of music ever that you were a part of contributing to... Your Music...Always Loved In Our Hearts.. !!! Forever xxx
saw them at the continental in buffalo,ny in between sets the lead singer was outside said to me and my girlfriend "fancy a shag?" my gf is like "arent u gonna defend me? " lead singer goes " i meant him not you you fucking slag" classic punk tude these guys shoulda went further they are the anvil of punk rock ...
I seen them about 10 years ago @ a little place called malibu jacks in St. Catharines, I was 16 and had to sneak in with a friend. the bouncer was so busy hitting on all the young girls I walked my ass right in. It was THE best show I have ever seen, and first real punk show I atteneded. Best punk band of all time in my opinion.
HAMILTON ONT , Steel City , Hammer Town.. this isn't London !
canuck punk begins and ends right here. with these guys... I met the drummer about a decade ago. He's an editor, cutting for tv and film in toronto.. real nice guy
Sorry Your wrong.. I tape em so I should know. Fryfogels was in London. The one and only time I taped em. As for punk beginning and ending in Hamilton well WE had the Demics and they never sang about wanting to go Hamilton "cuz its the place only place to be"
Was talking to my old man a couple months ago about them and he mentioned that the singer used to work at Wattingtons on John st with him like...over 25 years ago LOL!
Used to hear this all th time in Buffalo at 102.1 and 107.1 when they were still cool, as well as 91.3 WBNY Buff St. Radio...so when it came my turn to DJ at the Old Pink, this was an automatic staple...thanks for this...
I wonder if this was November 12/83. If it was I was at this show, I remember the date 'cos it's the day I met my ex-witch...er, girlfriend. Worst mistake of my life.
I remember being at this tiny club, with a tiny stage and the dudes were on (and they were pretty on), and this fucker walks up to me and says, "hey, you work with bands, can you get me to talk (his words) with Rod Stewart? I said sure, just buy a beer and go introduce yourself.
Hell, I wasn't even working for the guys, but Mickey got a free beer.
ya man, i saw them in February when they were filming for the DVD. does anyone know when the hell it's coming out?! they haven't updated their site in a year!
walking down brunswick i heard a thump - in the window of the tranzac there was mikki banging and waving me in--i turned my pockets inside out to show him all my cash--10 beers later i realised he didn't care--he's still pure--still rocks
