I've visited CHV many times...I love checking out UVA; the many eateries across town (esp. along 29), etc.-but I guess NBC29 didn't have any "real" news to talk about, such as crime, political corruption, a serial rapist(s), a football or hoops game, etc.-so I guess they had to resort to doing a story about "how to cross the street." I thought UVA students could figure that out...or maybe they needed an extra "tutorial", at taxpayer expense that is.
