d) Elimination of human rights? This doesn't have a thing to do with communism. That's like saying you have a fever because you have a headache. Loss of human rights is a simptom of totalitarism.

e) There was some government controled economy, but you must look at the reason. Nationalization itself isn't communist, it's totalitarian.

Communism took in order to redistribute the wealth (in our country for instance (Yugoslavia) the poor got houses or apartments), while Nazies took from the people they didn't deem worthy (non-Aryans) in order to control production for the benefit of the state itself (after all, economy is power). Fascism implemented corporatism where ALL economy was controled at the NATIONAL LEVEL (together by state officials and owners).

Please use some critical judgment when reading these types of posts. people either a) selectively choose things to say to get their points across, or b) barely scratch the surface of the topic so that they describe general things which they have in common.

Example: Socialism and Capitalism are the same thing.

a) In bothe economic systems you trade goods and services in exchange for money

@xGapex well I do agree with you that Nazi Germany was not communist, and there are some differences you can point to, but they were nowhere near the liberal capitalism of today's Western Europe and USA. They were definitely socialist, as they controlled the economy by controlling all corporations and even if they didn't redistribute wealth, they made all the decisions of income and limited trade. Totalitarianism is a good analogy, but it's not an econmoic system.

Yes I realise that that comes from public ownership (not just wealth redistribution), which is a big part of this economic system, but distribution is still important (since it's a part of the economy) and this is where they differ. One of the importan ideas in socialism (as in economic system) is "from each according to his ability, to each according to his contribution" (Marx). And this wasn't true in Nazism, since they gave a lot more to the "pure", than the others

@xGapex the reason I compared them to communists is because all communist regimes in history have been totalitarian, far from Karl Marx's ideals. But totalitariansim is a type of regime, and we have seen capitalist totalitarian regimes (British Empire before Parliament is a good example). How the Nazis allocated resources didn't matter, it was still a proof of their socialist economic system where they controlled all aspects of the German economy

Anyway, Nazies weren't leftists, but their production had a few similarities with communist/socialist countries, mostly (partly) publicly owned economy, but the same can be said for ABSOLUTE MONARCHIES for instance, so the conncetion isn't that strong
