Tremendous viola player. The truth is simple. Powerful double stops. Can hardly compare to Bashmet. Even more powerful than Dunham. Very melodic and brilliant tone in the higher register. A Strauss master. S. Retiz
@ThePeoplesGuru well i guess so..haha i've heard Bashmet and his testore viola two weeks ago life <3 so amazing..but his is even better..well love it anyway, violas rock!
@BerlinPhil Thanks for the answer. Sadly, I can only see the upper part of the list, but is a problem with either the site or my machine... So bad, you didn't write it this way "Español"
One one clip you can see how the shoulder rest does not conform to his body the way he holds the viola. I have the same problem and find that I have to shift my chin over to the center over the tailpiece. This doesn't feel natural to me.. I rather hold my viola like he is. But I think we both need a modified shoulder rest. All the typical ones sold really force you to put your chin over the tailpiece else suffer the ends of the shoulder rest digging into you.
He makes this excerpt look easy! This is actually a very hard to play with lots of complexity, which is why it’s a common excerpt for professional orchestra auditions! A true master at work! And what a wonderful viola!
The level of a good musician, but it is attainable, so that all the talk about the musicians from the orchestras of Class-A have been greatly exaggerated ..... Simply, there is a barrier for musicians from Eastern Europe ......
@AbsoluteZ3R0 Learn your scales. I resisted my private instructor all the time when she asked me to do scales. Now that I'm on my own, I practice them at least 15 minutes per day. If you know scales, you will know where to land your fingers. The 16th/32nd note runs are nothing more than scales. Only since I've been on my own, have I come to learn and appreciate the importance of scales. Scales = technique. And technique will allow you to play whatever you want, however you want.
are these evah pirazzi strings??
