Reason Toyota doesn't make sports cars is because its not as profitable as their mid-sized sedan market that they basically control with Honda.

Also people don't even realize that almost all of the 80-90s sports cars were designed in order to allow manufacturer to race in certain series by reaching a production quota.

Possibly the greatest sports car to come out of Japan (at the time, anyway). The 300ZX was nice, but in my opinion, this was better. Inline 6's will always rule over V6's.

whoever came up with this idea was plain brilliant. All i could think of was the space shuttle leaving the earthly confines with fortitude and grace. The camera even slows down towards the end when the shuttle is reaching the brink of the atmosphere and almost into the vastness of space. Sheer brilliance. Truly befitting to a car like the supra. It's sad that Toyota discontinued the Supra, Celica, and MR2. Honda discontinued the NSX, Integra, and in 2009 the S2000. Mazda replaced their RX7 with the underpowered RX8 (good car but lack of torque.) The 90's were the good days for sports cars.

@Billy145891 im sorry billy but i have to input since i agree with everything else you said but the rx8 is by no means a good car, its ok in its stock form but since ford owned most of mazda when they were testing and designing it ford made them release it early so its balance and handling is entirely dependent on its stock form, if you do anything to the car at all, lower it, bigger rims, stiffer shocks, even 100 pounds of extra weights throws it off entirely and it handles like garbage

@Billy145891 Totally agree! I don't know if Nissan improved any removing the Silvia, and Skyline GT R, but the new GT R is amazing, and the Z models are also beautiful, legitimate sports cars. Mitsubishi also did a disservice by never bringing back the 3000GT.

i think a new supra commercial would have to be like infomercial length and would be about 357 times more epic than any commercial ever made..

especially if they added videos of MKI-MKIV and heavily built 2jz's belting out 7 second 1/4's and laying rubber at 100 mph, then end it with video of a new supra (if one will ever be made..)
