@whitechevy60 Shocked Chevy made a V6 4x4 long bed. On top of that looks like there was a towing hitch installed as well. That 4.3 must be worked real hard.
did the 4 inch tip change the sound any? i hear they are called echo cans and they give a nice sound when added to a good muffler like your glasspack. I got a 4.7 dodge V8 with a super 44 and wanna know if by gettin a bigger tip will it change the sound any?

at the time i had a cracked distributor cap, so a bit of a miss, anyways now this truck has a 3 inch body lift and 285/75 federal couragias, and it gets moving pretty good for what it is, i get 11.5 mpg...

i had a 3.4 car oil buring 4000lb car before my blazer and even after taking about 300lbs of factory stuff to take off weight it still cant get out of its shadow. (blazer)
in its defence it hasnt has a tune up in over 100k and has a cat and dirty air filter but ive had cars like that before and i didnt have to shift into 2nd to get up a small hill.
it gets 11.5 with my heavy right foot, it now has wide 33s and a body lift on it, which doesnt help either.
bone stock i got 15 out of it. in my opinion i would go with a 4.8 v8 or 5.3. the ls1 v8s are very efficient and more powerful than the v6. if i could go bak, thats what i would have gotten for sure.
@81stepside only 11.5? thats 350 MPG. I get about 15 MPG with my 4.3. The 4.8 and 5.3 are a heck of lot more powerful and get the same if not better MPG.
@weewoodeal My 1998 S10 with a 4.8 gets 23mpg average highway and city. But i guess a body lift and 33s wud hurt it. My cuzin has an 87 Jeep with a 4.3 outa a 99 S10 and it only gets 12mpg cuz of the 4 inch lift and 34s.
not to mention it would make for a bad flow coming out a small hole into a large opening then back into a small hole jus doesnt seem right if u ask me i had mine cut off completely on my 5.3L check out my vido
dont gut the catsand dnt waist money on high flows jus have them completely cut off reason being high flow cats are still restrictive and u dnt want to gut them incase u ever decide u want them back on and/or u can sale them and get money
nice at the start up... that is a for sure v8 start up, however it does get ricy at the hirgh rpms but man, nice! io havent heard a truck this good with glasspacks ever! however one suggestion for the ricy sounds when in higher rpm would be after the glasspack run 2 3/4" to the tips... gives it a better rumble but just a suggetion.. once again nice exhaust!

@Kenny42581 the knockoff glasspacks and other mufflers are always the best to get.
smaller companies have more to loose so they make the best stuff when it comes to mufflers.
flowmaster and cherry bombs are all made of cheap aluminised steel
and the welds fall apart.

It's all in the gearing, with stock sized tires 4.10's don't do a bad job of getting it moving, and the 5-speed helps too.
Also, stock exhaust but a 14" turbo muffler and 2.5" single piping out sounds best on a Vortec V6 i've found out, at least in my opinion.
