I thought atmospheric BOV were bad for GTIs because your introducing an air leak for the motor, I made my BOV atmospheric and noticed my GTI was acting a little weird, so I swapped back to reciprocating and she ran fine again... Let me know WTF is going on lmao.
Mate to be honest you know fuck all really. Ur just some dick that reads max power magazine, dont know shit and just goes along with what you 'Think' and not know. I got nothing against any kidna car, hell i dont even drive a VW but damn u chat shit. Put ur max power down and get in a Golf GTi yeah?
nosoundflux you said you build and race cars i was just wandering do u knw if i can put a normal dump valve on my audi a3 turbo or do i have to put a recurculating dump valve on? thanks
i also have an A3 turbo its a 99 model i have upgraded the induction kit and i have chipped it i have yet to put a dump valve on but i am unsure what kind to put on. should i get a dump valve or a blow off valve? cheers.
Wait, are you on drugs, or did you fall and get a concussion? I'm not even sure why you respond, Graham, you have nothing intelligent to say - you're like an insane pregnant woman with an obvious self-confidence issue & way too much spare time. Gotta get that last word in aye, even if it's totally pointless? What a hypocrite hahahahahaha
All the VAG 1.8T Units were fitted with OEM Bosch recirculation Valves, fitting an vent to atmosphere valve can put your engine check light on and create problems at idle.
Nope, douche, turbosystem is 100% correct. Unlike you, he must know the inner workings of a VW. BOV's do not work with cars that have the MAF, which VW is one. All 1.8T engines have DV's which are diverter valves, which sends the excess boost back through the maf, which counts it and does not add extra gasoline, and does not make the engine run rich between shifts. The diverter valve is actually a great device which makes VW turbo's work very well.
i own a golf mk1 wich does 0-60 in less than 5 secs and that is a 25 year old car so i'm just wondering what you can make from a new gti, if you know what you are doing and you know what you want you can get pretty much every car to be fast, i have nothing against honda or anything but they dont have much power(my oppinion)that 3000gt you had is pretty cool though i guess, one of my dream cars just to bad you cant get them easely here in belguim
you know im talking about a 1960 beetle, they dont have a 1.8l ,the original engine whas a 1.2 litre but it now has a type 4 engine with 2.8 litres,i went to the european bug-in last weekend he was racing there he did a 8 seconds flat on the 400 meters thats a quarter mile
cest quelle dump ke ta monter?

does every GTI have a turbo ?
maikyjoe 2 years ago
yes ofcoure gti stands for grand turbo injection.
gbbrtje 2 years ago
grand TOURING injection, the old gti did not hav a turbo did it?
andrestole 2 years ago
MkI, MkII and MkIII GTIs did NOT had a turbo engine. Most were 16-valve 4-cylinders and 12-valve narrow-angle V6s.
The MkIV had a 20-valve 1.8 Turbo 4-cylinder.
The MkV and MkVI have 16-valve 2.0 Turbo Direct Injection 4-cylinder.

grand ?

u mean gas turbo injection...
HeMzY01 2 years ago
lol how the fuck you wanna turbo injection gasoline? XD
gbbrtje 2 years ago
GTI stands for Grand Turismo (I)njected.
The namesake was first used in 1976 and back then fuel injection was a big deal, even more for an small economy hatch.
Only after the MKIV (2000) does the GTI gets a Turbo engine (the turbodiesel is NOT a GTI)
The GTI signifies a Golf with Grand Touring capabilities without AWD.
flurry 2 years ago
@flurry its grand touring not grand turismo
MrHynzie 1 year ago
@MrHynzie
Thanks.
"GTI" is derived from Italian 'Gran Turismo Iniezione'.
Since a Golf GTI is a GERMAN automobile, the loanword is from German and Italian languages:
[G] RAN
[T] URISMO
[I] NJEKTION
The "T" from "GTI" has NEVER meant Turbo.
The "T" from "1.8 T" is invariable from Turbo, since there IS also a 1.8 NA.

If you don't get it, then you probably shouldn't be dabbling under the hood of a car, or maybe just a toyota, which you probably couldn't fuck up.
