  • Great atmospheric video and nice playing. This reminds me of the Aberdeen Capitol Compton. Same style of console (more standard layout however) but the sides are solid rather than illuminated. Its still there entombed under the floor of what is now a night club with the chambers cluttered with brick dust and builders' rubble. They wanted to remove and rescue it but listed building consent folk said it had to stay. :-(

  • What song is that? Any chance you have a link to the sheets? ;)

  • It's called "(Riding along)On the crest of a wave". I'm sure the sheet music will still be available.

  • i love how it changes color that is sooo cool i wish i could play that one i have rebuilt 2 theater organs in my hometown in PA

    and i love playing them

    !

  • Glad you like it. The illuminated glass surrounds were a particular feature of Compton organs, and they became all the rage in the UK

  • I've only seen an organ at the ODEON Leicester square

  • Yes, the ODEON Leicester square has a much larger organ (5 manual), and it's by the same firm as this one at the Plaza (Compton). Theatre organs like these were very popular in the larger cinemas, but very few remain in their original venues.

  • very good

  • Great ! do you ever play for film presentations at the Plaza ?

  • Sounds great!

  • Well you play that very well sir :)

  • Very nice. Who's playing?

  • Thanx. Erm, well I'm playing!
