  • I'm starting to get worried! I've been reading and people say this thing blows up the MAF sensor or that eventually I'll get error codes or something? Is it a myth? someone?

  • Ok, FINALLY I bought one for mine! The sound it makes is awesome combined with my borla exhaust! But...what about the power? I've seen improvement in first gear at low revs, in mid range revs at all gears and almost none at high revs (x4300 +) have to clarify that mine has a 1.6L engine with a 4 gear AT transmission (LAME gear box) If you have the same combination then you'll understand how underpower the car feels. Nice video btw

  • yo good shit but you knw even tho u may hav got a small gain think of it this way read up see witch company has a better shape pip c.a.i. and ull really notice an increase bu yo if u tryin to just get the sound for cheap thats a grate home made one least it looks ligit thumbs up on exploring

  • Where did u get the air flow thing from

  • @Superguerrerosongoku ........great vid bro.

  • humm, i saw my cold air temp.. they are usually high cuz of radiator. any difference in ur's after that mod?

  • Too many morons replying. "Small rubber particles will break off" "you'll ruin your engine" love how every asshole who doesn't know shit about engines, is tossing their two cents in...

The rubber hose will work FINE. It's made to deal with boiling ethylene glycol for days and weeks at a time... what the hell is cool air going to do to it? If it were to disintegrate so easily, I'm sure plenty of SEMIs would be dead with clogged rads. These scared little morons are just talking so much shit!

  • What is the vacuum hose? What function does it have? anyone?

  • Did you noticed any changes in first gear?...like when you're in a red traffic light and you step on the gas pedal...I mean in normal daily use, did you noticed a difference, was it a beter response or was it a slower response?...I'm not experienced in this things but I have the same engine and I would like to get a cold air intake...thank you

  • @oiram1189 Hmm, 2 months ago but ill respond anyway. A major issue with cold air intake for small engines is that at low rpm's the engine may bog down. Meaning you actually lose some power and have trouble getting acceleration. Although once you get going, the difference will be noticable. I suggest not getting a cold air intake, and going with a short ram intake. Basically the same thing, but less risk of hydrolocking if you hit a large puddle of water. Also less filter replacements.

  • @Ryantube007 Thank you man, I had an issue with my new exhaust, my mazda had the 1.75" and I upgraded it to the 2.25" exhaust and experienced a loss in power, A LOT of power less.Took the car to the dealer and they reprogramed the "PCM" (That's how they call it here in El Salvador)I guess that's the car computer and gained all the power back. (Continues)

  • @Ryantube007 Do you think that by reprograming the computer again once the CAI or SRI is installed it will gain the lost power back? or it is what it is and there is no way on earth I will gain the power back?

  • u are an idiot, get some real intake, ull make no power since ur bends are all wrong. AEM doesn't just bend pipe and put a 300 bux price tag on it. and stop that music idiot.

  • Does you "check engine" light go on? That's a small engine (only 1.6 liters, that's less than 2.3 liters) BUT, the 2.3 liter engine is notorious for its BAD fuel economy. I get very bad fuel mileage with my father's 2.3 liter Mazda 3.) And, I try to drive slowly, I try to save gas.

  • Please make a video showing how to change the air filter for a K&N cone air filter! I have the exact same car as yours but mine is manual. The engine is the same, everything is the same. I've been looking everywhere and you're the only that can help me. Any help appreciated!

  • I feel like I'm watching the end credits of a Power Rangers game with this music.

  • @Superguerrerosongoku size of pipe counts...i think 2.5" is ideal for 1.6 model...what is the size of pipe for the 2.0 that u got? will post soon video of stainless CAI i made for 1.6...keep me posted as well with ur car intake mods =)

  • @Superguerrerosongoku yup u can adapt the 2.0 CAI to 1.6 w/ some cutting and modification.adapters for MAF sensor is the same.BUT.1.6 got smaller throttle mouth diameter compare to 2.0 throtle, which means 2.0 intake pipe diameter is larger than the 1.6,which may/will affect maf reading.how i know bout this?got a CAI from ebay for mazda 6 w/c fits perfectly in mazda 3 1.6, pipe diameter is 2.75"...installed it in my 1.6, runs but gets CEL and it runs too lean, idle rpm jumps back en forth 500-800.

  • You have a Fusion amp don't you? ;)

  • should of made it all metal it wont last long

  • @arnoni11 replaced it already and constructed one made of stainless pipe...works great...will post video soon

  • @samtongken2008 so....whatever happen to that video with ss pipe

  • WHAY YOU POT AIR FILTER TO TOOOO DAWN ??? YOU CAN PUT AFTER FIRST LONG HOUSE ??

  • @arnoni11 oh yeah, captain expert? what's going to happen....?

  • Nice

  • song?

  • Hey what kind of exhaust are you using?

    I'm about to get a mazda3 (woohoo)

I've always loved that low drone kinda kickass mighty engine roar <-- lol

Is that solely just dependent on the exhaust and muffler that i use? Or does the intake have an effect as well?

  • MEXICAN?

  • Good work!! i've never seen that type of engine.. the stock intake looks SUPER complicated haha

  • Hey, Why dont u direct the intake to the front? on the black plactic cover on top of the radiator u will find a bracket or a knockout which can be removed to let the air in, use it take air in, as ur speed increase, the air pushes well into the intake, also it has less chance of water getting in as the air moving direction is from down to up, so much safer. see it urself.

  • Damn porn movie music...cool CAI, love the noise!!

  • ever take it off any sweet jumps :) jk man diy is the best. now weld us an exhaust!

  • basically, basically thats all i understood..

cold air intake is for higher RPM ranges (4k above).. If you have a 1.6L most likely your in a place or country that averages 50km/hr-100km/hr the most..

Having a SRI will suit your road condition better.. SRI are better in low end torque.. 3.5k below

  • lol G.I. Jose. that's pretty cool though. good job.

  • next thing u know caBOOOOOOM!!!!

    LOL

  • you better hope no rubber flakes off or anything and goes through your engine

  • how do you connect the sensor??

  • Remove the poor porn music and then I'll be able to understand you better

  • You're a genius!

  • im planning to take my mazda3 1.6l on a 2500KM trip do u think this will harm the engine?

  • Dosent it supposed to be alumminum to increase heat exchange? What if you intake pure welding oxygen into your engine? What will happen ?Lol please answer me...Maybe 30% pure oxygen and 70 % normal air?

  • youll run lean and blow the motor... you cant put more air in without adding fuel... why not tho? well because a used nitrous kit would cost the same 200$ and have way better and safer power gain

  • WOOOO!!!! NICE WORK YEAAAAA!!!

hope thats not your only car..

  • My stock air box came with rubber hose attatched...

  • ur killing ur engine dude!

  • How so explain please.

  • any how rubber hose pipe is not recommended at all in the air intakes !

it is his car . his engine you can install a paper pipe too :)

  • you know actually you are about to kill your engine !

u used the rubber hose and you know whn fast air travels in the hose it might create the small rubber particles go directly in ur engine !

  • You wanker... water diteration- there used to hold boiling hot water which pumps through your engine- so how do you think it would?

  • you double wanker , if the particles will go in the radiator it is ok and will cause no harm but if these will go in the burning chamber or mite be stuck in the valves seats so it will definately harm the engine .

  • your a twat....in an extremly unlikely case where some of the rubber hose breaks off and falls into the combustion camber....it will get super heated and burnt to a crust and turn into dust....rubber like that is rated to a max of about 900 degrees celcius...tempratures inside the combustion chanber reach above 1200 degrees....

  • it will be instantly incinerated...the microscopical dust may case wear on your engine....but if you have good clean oil and flush it out at proper intervals its all part of normal wear and tear...

    oh...burn!

  • its a rad hose off a transport. that shit well never fall apart .

  • simota lol! the cheepest filter on the market!! and it suck xD

  • it 2.0

  • cool cai!

  • Question did that part with the MAF sensor come on your stock intake and did you cut it off of the stock intake and put it on your custom intake?

Nice cost effective intake. You need to post a vid of you driving it now...

  • nope.i made a mold of the maf flange for d custom intake. its wise to keep ur stock intake in case you want to go back to stock, i do that whenever i bring my car for maintenance at the dealer. theres an issue in warranty if they found out ur using a diff intake or aftermarket intake and other engine mods.

  • One last thing...

How do you make a mold flange for the maf?

This is all new to me.

I have an old car that doesn't have all of this new tech like that on it.....

    thanks for the reply

  • 1.6l available in the US?

    Thought 2.0 is lower version.

Any other mod regard ecu or similar for ps?

  • where did you get the radiator hose?

  • got the hose from a truck parts autoshop. I use hose with 2.5" inside diameter to match the size of the throttle mouth. Nice thing bout radiator hose is that its flexible so u can easily squeeze ur way to the back of the front bumper. Also, u need L-shaped hose to point it down towards the back of bumper.

  • anybody thats good with bmws i need your help i just blew my upper rad hose off and i dont know why it happened i have no interal engine problems but i bought the car used and i can tell they tried to glue the hsoe so it wouldnt pop off because its happened before what can i do?

  • Shrink gas to hear the sound!!!

  • whats the difference with CAI

  • with cai, i get better engine response, better mpg and quicker acceleration. Dunno exact hp gain, havent put it on dyno, but I can definitely feel the difference when behind the wheels. With mpg, I rely on onboard display that shows average fuel economy. When in stock I was getting 14Liters per 100Km, but now with cai, I get 10.2Liters per 100Km.

  • you dont get a horsepower gain on a CAI if you dont have a full exhaust system and swapped headers....

  • you my friend are an idiot

  • agreed!

  • Nice Man!, but What's your Horsepower Gain ??
