  • @ian1969scott Finally heard Cebotari's rendition and it is truly superb, the intensity at times is unbearable. Personally I prefer the perverse edge that Welitsch adds to the role, after all this girl gets all worked up sexually about kissing the severed head of a man who refused her, and think of the family she came from! she was definitely in need of help from Dr. Freud.

  • I grew up listening to Welitsch's Salome and she remains my ideal interpreter. One of those great moments in music when the music and the musician are one.
