  • The Talking Heads were a rare, fantastic band.

  • This song always grabs me by the booboo. Just love Tina's bassline and Chris' drums.

I wish Byrne would tour with that rhythm section again.

  • After Byrne said:

    "Watch out, touch monkeys,

whole thing is gonna swallow you whole."

    the "monkey" fascination started.

    A minor historical point.

    But true.

  • the greatest.........

  • Not my favorite Talking Heads song, but, by far, my favorite song that they would perform live.

  • Other videos from this show don't sound this good.

  • bellissima canzone e bravissimi gli artisti

  • Just a real good jam, first heard in Risky biz and new nothing about it, but i researched it and finally found it. band is tight as hell too

  • One of the greats done by them.

  • I wore out this album!!!!

  • @atomicwendy Me too!! God I miss them

  • The most devastating comment on the mass hysteria and nationalism of the Reagan Era. Just brilliant.

Listen closely to the genuine scary nature of this music, combined with the ominous lyrics, portending fascism in the 1980's. It's all here. It's stunning.

  • OMG the BEST ever!

  • One of the most skilled things about Byrne's songs is how he constantly poses questions but never answers them. It's brilliant. Truly the best purveyor of fine art in music.

  • @Serai3 yup

  • In my opinion, speaking in tongues was an epic album, way ahead of its time, and for that matter, a timeless recording as I'm sure most of you folk would agree. The whole fucken album is fantastic, and in my collection, this is one of a handful of lps that I will listen to in its entirety.

  • David byrne's the man,Talking heads rocking on and good song!Eye eye eye eye eye!!!!!!

  • and when they split those atoms

    its hotter than the sun

    blood is a special substance

they're gonna pray for that man

  • one time

    too many

    too far to go

ah, hi, we've come to take you home!

  • perhaps the most original musician of our generation... loving this...

  • God he is Fu*king amazing. Saw him twice for the Everything that happens tour and wow. What a silver fox. The emotion he evokes is just too brilliant for words.

  • Let me tell you a story...

  • eye eye eye eye eye eye.........

  • hiiiiiiiii

    hi

    hi

    hi

    hi

    HIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • Remember Risk Business too...Awesome

  • What the fuck!

If you can't say it, you can't due it !!

  • This song makes me think of the movie Risky Business. Ha ha, love it!

  • hes funny and cool

  • SWAMP this song always makes me want to jump up and down and do the high leg like david byrne did on the talking heads tour stop making sense thanks for posting the video

  • Brilliant! Outstanding! Extraoridinary! This is my favourite T. Heads song! However, I didn't know it was written, played live and recorded before 1983. Swamp wasn't released until 1983 on the Speaking In Tongues LP. This is a rare gem. What a wonderful discovery! Thank you very much connected365 for this contribution!

  • Why do these guys always sound so perfect live? Admirable.

  • How many song did Talking Heads do?

  • About 120, I think. That'd be counting a lot of their live repeats though.

  • The best concert.........ever. Thanks so much for making my day......

  • wheel see for yourself

  • This is their best song, if you ask me! Fuckin' great memories man!

  • fuckin' A

  • wow one time seven trunks ago

  • Let's get high, high high high high HIIIGH

  • hey look its Willem Dafoe ( or just David Byrne on tons of coke)

  • Talking Heads were the epitomy of Geek Rock, which isn't neccesarilly a bad thing, they kicked butt.

  • What's amazing is how good they are live. This version has virtually the same sound as the one on Stop Making Sense. David Byrne and TH are the best.

  • Who knew this video even existed? This may be my new favorite recording of this song!

  • awesome song;crank it up dogs

  • LOL 707

solidmotion|not an elephant in a monkey factory?

  • My Favorite Talking Heads song. If you Like this, type in My Big Hands, watch that one.

  • Lordchrisanderson2- you must not be watching the same thing I am. This rocks! David Byrne is GOD!

  • damn straight!!

  • Then don't listen to it or watch it. Like so many others on YouTube, you search for and sit through things you don't like....then actually take the time to write a blog that you hate it. Remarkable behavior. You must either be a complete dickhead or mildly retarded. Hard to say, maybe a combination of both.

  • @Croutonza Or a troll, you left out a troll. I'm guilty of it too, it's undeniably fun to annoy people.

  • All the blood will never cover that mess!

Jesus, this is the only thing I found when I put in 'swamp' and 'talking heads'! And it's a GOOD song!

  • so haunting and threatening, yet inspiring

  • awesome

  • who's driving, and who knows?

  • straight hard blues. christ, yes.

  • watch out touch monkeys!

  • That gave me chills.

    Wow
