Thank you for introducing me to MUSESCORE and the instruction. I have a Yamaha DGX 203 and I think now that I have MUSESCORE and what you have taught me I will be able to start arranging some Blues Tunes.
@HarunoSakuraL Make sure your keyboard is plugged in and turned on before starting up MuseScore. You can check whether MuseScore has connected correctly by looking on the I/O tab of Preferences (see Choose PortMIDI Interface). If you still have problems, there are some helpful people in the MuseScore forums :)
@dramallama321 Depends what sort of keyboard you have :) Most recent keyboards connect to a USB port on your computer. Make sure you connect your keyboard and turn it on before starting MuseScore so that MuseScore recognises it.
Okay, so, I have a Yamaha P85 Digital Piano and a Yamaha UX16 USB/MIDI Interface. The UX16 is installed correctly and even appears under the "Preferences: I/O: ...interface" button under. However, when I play my piano's keys, nothing registers on my musescore screen. What could I be doing wrongly?
@malwambi Did you make sure to select a bar or rest on the score first? If that doesn't work, it's probably best to post your query on the MuseScore forum. There are lots of helpful people there.
Can you enter more than one note at a time directly from a digital piano? For example, can you play an entire chord and have the entire chord electronically notated by the software? Or, do you have to enter it in one note at a time? If musescore doesn't allow that, do you know of any software that does? Thanks for the fantastic tutorials.
@malwambi Yes - absolutely. MuseScore will notate all of the notes in a chord at the same time. All the notation software programs do this. And you're welcome :)
Now this is a PRO tutorialist at work! Katie....what a treat to listen and watch your tutorials. With all the mumbo-jumbo chit chat tutorials out there [well meaning as they are] yours are an A+ and beyond. I may want to hire you for my Learning projects. I'm impressed KatieW! John-Hans Melcher
@katiesw1 how many people on your team to create the Sibelius and Muse score tutorials. They are to professional for a single creator. Script is typed....pauses are perfect....clarity is right on......this is a production team's work. How many?
@johnnyzing No team - just me! I'm not a fan of the rambling tutorial, so, you're right - I script it first and record the voice over. Then I do the screen recording and edit both together as tightly as possible. It's more time-consuming than doing it all together at the same time, but I prefer the result :)
@katiesw1 HI Katie. Just you!! Your technique and style are beyond 99.9% of all youtube tutorials. You're in Australia right? We must connect via regular email...I have a learning system and when I get the funding I would like to hire you. I wonder if you know how good you really are at this? I do! Check this page Step Wise Learning dot com This is me and one of my sites. Then email me regular. Happy Friday night to you. Winter there? John-Hans
