When you import an AVCHD file with 5.1 Digital Dolby in Studio this 5.1 surround sound downmixes to Stereo, And then you can recreate the 5.1 by exporting as AVCHD Disc with 5.1 Digital Dolby. The quality will also go down. Taking surround sound to stereo is generally possible but to go the other way and not lose some quality is very hard. As I have said before this is a complexe procedure and it cannot be done with Studio.
Based on personal experience what ever you do avoid this program. Big headaches!
