  • i just uploaded a vietnam video, of dont fear the reaper check it out:D

  • This song sums up the Vietnam Era! The riots in the streets all over. I witnessed the huge crowds of protesters marching into DC in 1970.

  • good song

  • "For What It's Worth" was not about Vietnam.

  • My brother was coming down from the DMZ to visit me during one of my short stays at base camp down in III Corp. An Aussie bunch had a chopter and picked him up and delivered him to me. Loved those Aussies. No red tape. No questions. Just say your brother is down South and they took care of him. Plus they could fight and drink everyone except a 11th Armored Cavalry guy under the table. Sign me off as a Blackhorse Trooper 67-69. Allons.

  • we will drafted for iran soon people. were do you think they will get another trillion for a new war. nowere. u wait and see

  • Viewing these Videos awakens a lot of dormant memories. Personal memories I have learned to Love, Respect, and Fear

  • “Yippies, Hippies, Yahoos, Black Panthers, lions and tigers alike - I would swap the whole damn zoo for the kind of young Americans I saw in Vietnam.”

  • Love you all to this day and try to never miss an opportunity to show it. Hoooorahhh!

  • Fuckin bullshit what men do and die for some foreign relation or special interest at the hands of the elites

  • where is this America today?

  • Many people still believe this song was written to protest the war in Vietnam, but it was actually written in reference to the riots and police brutality on LA's Sunset Strip in 1967. Still an awesome song though.

  • This song is not about the Vietnam War. Look it up.

  • " You Can Kill 10 of my men for everyone I kill of yours, but even at those odds, you will lose and i will win."

Words of Ho Chi Minh, the leader of the Communist North Vietnam 1967

  • @totaldramailand1 and murderer of thousands of Vietnamese who wanted democracy.

  • @TheAirborne076 an about over 600, thousand marines

  • what the hell happened to the wods?!

  • @BrandonM4444 Is the sound disables or just the words? .. if it's the words it's because the audio is stereo format and you might only have 1 speaker?

  • @berowra its the words, but its not all the words, like ill get hte first 2 words of the song, then ill get 8 lines of jus music, then another 3 words and so on, its like this for the entire music, and i thought that was the problem but no, i have a hook up to a speaker stero system, and its working perfectly, the subwoofer, and both speakers, and the setting on my comp and internet are fine.

  • @BrandonM4444 Yeah it's in stereo format so if you only have one speaker it might only play say .. the left side, Cause the music is supposed to be played over two speakers

  • @berowra umm, couple of problems with that, 1. i checked that, both speakers work, as i said i checked that, both speakers work, and sound is coming out of both speakers, all other songs on and off youtube work normaly, its just this one. also all the programs are correct.

  • Fuck that war, it was pointless. What a waste of young lives.

  • It is so sad watching Young American's today facing the SAME things we face in the 60's in their efforts to end wrongs and injustice in this nation.

  • R.I.P grandpa ;(

  • @amaruz96 your grandpa was a hard bastard. you should be proud.

  • why is this version different from the forrest gump version?

  • @futebalmakedonia because this is the original studio version

  • loving this video... expect us!!

  • Looks more like Afghanistan now, the new Vietnam.

  • @darkeagle2004

except people there actually support ammericans not like vietnam that only less than 5% of the population supported the us

  • again ?

  • GREAT

  • Besides the locals in Vietnam that were fighting against communism and the U.S., the next largest force against north Vietnam was the South Koreans

  • It´s a true story. Johnson once asked the German chancellor Erhardt to send German soldiers to Vietnam in order to support the U.S.Army.

The chancellor answered: " Oh,no! That´s not a good idea. We just survived a war. But maybe in a few years we are ready to survive another one."

  • ...If you're under 55 you don't know Jack about 'Nam...

  • I served two tours of duty ,Army Infantry .50 Cal Gunner, deep in the jungles of Vietnam, some 50+ years ever since, my mind still remains haunted with nightmares, and the warm feeling of my brothers blood upon my face and hands, those whom have not ever been in the mist of battle, do not know what it feels like to see your fellow brothers in arms fall lifeless,

upon the bloody soil of a far away land. Be forever " grateful and thankful " brave souls as we whom served, for those whom did not !

  • @EagleWolfSpirit771 Yea, right. Bet that .50 cal was a bitch to carry deep in those jungles right?

  • @EagleWolfSpirit771 Go fuck yourself! Your experience is meaningless as the Vietnam war was a Holocaust inflicted for no reason. I find it sad that Americans still list the death toll for the Vietnam War as 58000. ......I guess the 3.2 million innocent Vietnamese you murdered don't count as Humans...........On Sept !! 2001 your Empires downfall began....and good fucking riddance.

  • @JonnyCashmore What country are you from so we can nuke it and kill your entire family? Roach.

  • @EagleWolfSpirit771 Dont worry about these limpdick fags who don't know what sacrifice is. I praise you for the story. All these other guys who troll you can suck my balls.

  • @EagleWolfSpirit771 My dad was there he fought in this same war he was there in 1968...

  • @EagleWolfSpirit771 All I can offer is a Thank you, and welcome home sir, Outstanding Job sir!

  • Brother, I hear you, though I was over-run with the South Vietnamese up north in "67", your words speak for us all.

    Bill Lafrance

    Combined Action Company "3"

    Thau Thien Province,R.V.V.

  • @EagleWolfSpirit771 My thanks to you sir. May god bless you and your brothers and may the sit in the hall of God, and you may join them in good time. Thank you.

    God Bless America.

  • this song is so awesome

  • thats right- no one dislike- Yea boy!!

  • @fensterfail the M16A1 only jamed alot because when it was firs introduced there was no good cleaning kits avalable untill they were issued along with a magazine on how to clean your quote on quote "sweet 16 " yes they jammed thats when they also added the forward assist to quickley get that extra bullit out of the chamber to get the gun firin agian

  • Some people say that this was America's worst war but I kind of wonder.

    Vietnam casualties 58,000 65-74 (U.S.)

    ww2 casualties 416,000 41-45 (U.S.)

average days of combat for a soldier in 1 year in Vietnam 240.

average days of combat for a soldier in 1 year in ww2 10. (not including Army Air Force)

Which one was worse? Statistics show ww2 but the media made Vietnam out to be worse.

  • @bad74maverick1 People died ~ does it matter ???

  • @deec269 well it kinda does, it's seen as our worst war and the vets were looked down on but ww2 vets are credited as being the greatest generation (granted rightly so) because of the parameters of what the war was about not about how hard they fought. That was the point I was making.

  • @bad74maverick1 Then your point is well taken. My father fought in WW2 and my husband and friends in vietnam. Vietnam happened to be at a time and generation that they were able to put on a daily bases news on this war, so it seemed that it was worse. For the generation that grew up seeing this broadcast every night it was war propagada to continue it for war profits. Just like today. The amount that have died for the Bushes,Chaneys, Obamas and the NWO agenda may even be more counting innocents.

  • Well I'm glad you saw my point and didn't think it was to try to start an argument. I have always wondered what our reaction would have been during ww2 if things like D-day were piped directly into their homes, or watch the disaster at the evacuation of dunkirk, or the battle of the Hurtgen and Ardennes forest, wake Island, Midway, Saipan, Iwo Jima ect.... I mean the Pacific was just as much hell as Vietnam. What if t.v.'s were showing those images in 1944. May we honor them all and always.

  • @bad74maverick1 Against the Japs, no. 'Nam was worst. I'd rather kill, japs in my family members, in Germany. they ran, when that flamethrower came up. ;)

  • @totaldramailand1 Don't confuse quantity with quality (for lack of a better saying). Vietnam was longer and the jungle was hell to fight through but over 36,000 marines and navy personnel died in the Pacific in 3.5 years than the 58,000 total personnel killed in Vietnam in almost a 10 year span. The numbers just don't lie.

  • @bad74maverick1 why the hell would you compare two wars? both were brutal and got many people killed wars bad in general you cant say ones worse then the other anyway this war has so much controversies nam was the most protested war ever there was no reason we should have been there this war was pointless and got many people killed we should have never went there

  • @chickenmaster66 you completely lost the point. My point was ALL war is hell and ALL who serve in such wars need to be recognized because those who fought it were sent there to do a job and it was done and they need to be respected! Nam was the most protested war because Nam was in our TV's! Media changed the game of war bringing it into where we lived. What would people have thought if D-day would have been piped into their homes in 1944?

  • @chickenmaster66 so we shouldnt help kids in vietnam how die every day from comunissim and not getting feed enough thats the point we went ur unrespectful asshole

  • @xxthugforlifexx those kids didnt die from communism they died from war a war we never should have gotten involved in and the domino affect never happened plus we drafted or made people join the army against there will, we made kids straight out of high school fight and for what? we did more harm then good for the people of Vietnam. war isnt pretty and we lost, it was a waste of human life and poverty? dont think that was a big part of the war

  • Johnson sened Advisers to teach the south how to shoot and defend etc. he never wanted to put troops on Vietnam soil. unitll, they bombed our air force bases, and sunk 2 destroyers of ours. then, may 19th 1965, 3000 marines, 4000 army were sent to soil. prepared for the fight of our lifes. we never wanted to go, untill we found out, russians made their ships and planes, for the gooks, and were helping the north. the south begged they wanted us there.

  • Gee

    thanks everyone xD

  • It's a damn shame that those who fought in Vietnam didn't get the support from their country that they deserved.

  • @0neofthem MY grandpa is a vet of vietnam, and he even says, we didnt belong there, it was a fuck up.

  • God bless the people who served in Vietnam.

  • sad song

  • I didnt even know that Australians were in Vietnam. Interesting.

  • @DJSbros 7,672 soldiers where sent to Vietnam by the Australians

  • @berowra I had honestly had no idea.

  • @DJSbros Oops that was for something else there was ~60,000 Australian servicemen altogether in Vietnam.

  • @berowra Also the New Zelanders were their.

  • @MarineCorps413 yeah

  • @berowra 300 Canucks went to, support french withdrawl in the 50's, American Withdrawl in the 70's, actually we have our share of Vietnam vets, we had 30,000 serve in yankee uniforms.

  • @BigSock099 Canadians never draft, always volunteer, people often forget that we ever did anything, i support most of what the Americans are trying to accomplish.

  • @BigSock099 wrong!!!!!!!! check your history, world war 1 was a draft, govt called for conscription to over turn the no draft rule

  • @biggpiston Just so you know the majority was volunteered, the draft only started late war when there most had already gone, hello nation of only 7 million- 600,000 soldiers, that is a fuckin lot! in contrast. to most other countries exept germany' That was because of lord kitchener, the british government essentially made that decision for us. Candians our selves have never drafted out selves because of no need for it. Germans called Canucks, STURMTRUPPEN / stormtroopers

  • @MarineCorps413 and other asian countires to

  • @berowra And 114 were K.I.A

  • @DJSbros they were usually the dudes disguised as other dudes

  • @DJSbros and some Royal Marines volunteers from britain

  • @DJSbros

The Ausis were some of the toughest troops ever. They saw really nasty fighting and held up as well as any of the best troops the world has ever seen.

  • @bucketheadistheman But they had such bad dental work.

  • @bucketheadistheman Yeah. then why did the Aussies, leave, right when the United States Got there?

  • @totaldramailand1 we left now?

  • @berowra ?

  • @totaldramailand1 "Yeah. then why did the Aussies, leave, right when the United States Got there?"

  • @berowra you didnt leave now? i said right when the us got there, they left us to get dominated.

  • @totaldramailand1 When the US got to the Vietnam war we left? Do you have a source?

  • @berowra i know it by fact. they ;left cause they were sick of it, for the best 10years or so.

  • Comment removed

  • @DJSbros United States, Republic of Korea, Australia, Philippines, New Zealand, Thailand, Khmer Republic and Kingdom of Laos all were involved in vietnam they were also supported by Spain and Republic of China although some of these countries are just there for medical support

  • @DJSbros

not to forget canadians were also there for peace keeping operations

  • @kolinmartz Yes i knew that, and a lot of Canadians signed with the American military so that they could go.

  • @DJSbros well you learn something new every day dont ya?

  • You guys do know the song isn't about 'nam.... right?

  • @Cowenleetin The song is based on the events that occurred during the 1960's particularly the Vietnam War.

  • @berowra my criminal justice professor said it was about the shootings at Kent State in the 60s. makes sense. anyway, good song and good video

  • @FastEddie718 I HATE TO BE AN ASS BUT TELL YOUR PROFESSOR THAT KENT STATE HAPPENED IN MAY OF 1970 AND THIS SONG WAS DONE IN 1967.....PEACE

  • @FastEddie718 .. THE SONG OHIO BY C S N & Y WAS ABOUT KENT STATE..

  • @Cowenleetin it was about how the draft age was 18 and the voting age was 21 so you couldnt vote for who was telling you what to do

  • I'm in a video on here, I served in 'nam. 1967-1972

  • this is an amazing song. it really speeks for the timeperiod

  • The Aussies were GOOD soldiers; Believe it and I;m a Yank who was there.

  • The vietnam war shouldn't have happened, too many of our soldiers got killed and we didn't solve any problems

  • not anti war,

    pro peace!

  • Lmao omg fensterfail is so right, those A1's never worked in nam! Just like the pigs on point

  • Vietnam! HONOR

  • It's very sad how our country got into useless wars that just wasted American lives like the Vietnam War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan War. :/

  • Great song, even better video.

  • oh wow 106 likes and 1 dislike ... crazy

  • @berowra seems like charlie's still alive! at least one VC...

  • @berowra yea he must be a draft dodger lol

  • a video that features Australians, AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI

  • @squ33k950 Yeah i didn't see much of them up there, so i decided to make one :)

  • The fact is there were fewer people killed on both sides in the 12 years we were fighting in Vietnam than the over two million Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians who died after we signed the peace treaty and left. It was a much worse idea for Congress to let that happen by cutting off support to ARVN than drafting people was. Never trust any politician who votes to disarm friendles. That costs us a lot more money and lives down the road,

  • I enlisted in '72 after high school. The US military is America's strongest civil rights organization without which nobody has any civil rights. It's a very militant civil rights organization like the Nation of Islam although it's inclusive of individuals with many different personal beliefs who are required to trust one another with their lives. It was not a good idea to draft people into it. I'll side with the hippies on that one.

  • @futureUSMC96 I wasn't saying I hated the draft, I was saying we didn't need one anyway. I buttload of people volunteered

  • I find it funny how people go on videos like this and say things like "Fuck War". If they don't like war, why do they look up videos with "war" in the title? This is not directed towards any one in particular.

    ~Semper Fi

  • It's the hippies that made this war seem like a montrosity. We needed to be there to

Fight. The president was right and the worthless hippy sacks of shit were too busy smoking pot and not bathing to realize that. Alot of people volunteered.

    Fuck the draft

  • this video is fake, because there is a actual working m16 a1 showed

  • @fensterfail lol

  • @fensterfail The m16 rifle entered United States Army service and was deployed for jungle warfare operations in South Vietnam in 1963 becoming the U.S. military's standard service rifle of the Vietnam War by 1969...the only reason this MIGHT be true was because the barrel of the m16 happened to overheat alot.. even then this rifle was still used the soldiers just put a damp rag around the barrel to prevent burns in battle.

  • @scav3nger877 not to mention that it was originally claimed that the M-16 was a self cleaning rifle. something eugene stoner never said or eluded to, the it's function lead the military to believe that so they were cleaned properly causing malfunctions in the weapons in such a humid climate.

  • @fensterfail THIS VIDIO IS NOT FAKE .

  • the M-16 had problems in Vietnam because it was thought at the time by military brass that it was a self cleaning rifle. Eugene Stoner never claimed it to be that nor did he ever reference to it, but because of the rifles function it was thought as a self cleaning rifle by it's gas system, thus troopers almost never cleaned their rifles early on causing jams and fouling. Chamber fouling jams were prevalent so a forward assist was adapted. You see it wasn't the gun it was lack of understanding.

  • @fensterfail how the fuck did you get a top rated comment saying that. it WAS used in nam towards the end and the gun was finalized and produced and sent during in 1967

  • @fensterfail hoo cares

    it makes a good point

  • @fensterfail haha funny

  • @fensterfail you my friend is the smartest person i no's

  • ummm one of the thumbs up buttons is pointed the wrong way round...

  • @ZMOGfilms :)

  • 1960s... all hell broke loose in the US of A... at least the music was good!

  • how cold you dis like this i wold like to see that person who dis liked to go out their and do all the stuff these guys did and come back and press the dis like button. or if its because of the song well sorry to tell you but i love this song

  • @FallenXREM Some people just don't like successful vids because they get more likes than the vids they make so they have to dislike them :)

  • Fantastic clips amigo. Seriously best version I've seen sonar, and it really captures the mood of the song

  • @MrKlr650rider No problem :)

  • @MrKlr650rider Its really simple to the right of the search bar there is a button that says "upload" you just click that and browse for a video you want to upload.

  • radiovietnam (dot) net best radio station EVER! Don Mclean is playing from it as I comment you guys would love it

  • 1:39 what a beautiful sight. to bad it'll get real ugly when their put to use

  • @MrKlr650rider Yeah i guess its pretty good for a first video lol ...

  • Hey YouTube posting Nazis, quit deleting my posts. This song has nothing to do with Vietnam morons.

  • @SIrDrinksalot2 The song is based on the events that occurred during the 1960's particularly the Vietnam War.

  • My dad was in the army in the 60's, he had to do crowd control like in the video

  • Great vid excerpts and music choice mate. Good job.

  • the relaxed music and the vid don't really fit but still awsome song and vid <3

  • i wrote about how this guy is a communist for english class :P

  • Communist!

  • @altmonkey101 . . .

  • @berowra well he is...

  • @altmonkey101 Well you dont need to spam my video :)

  • does anybody know how the vietnam war ever got started and why the Americans got involved in it????

  • @IronAngelRX14 France made them a colony way back before world war I. later they tried to re-colonize in I think the fifties and got wasted. Of course the US was trying to stop the spread of communism and we got involved as what appeared at first as just a scare tactic. They didn't back down, needless to say. We struck out against them. We could've won but honestly it wasn't our "porrogative" from the start and eventually, America really didn't care about winning.

  • @cew1965 thanks dude, always wondered how it got started:)

  • I think its cool. Great tribute to the Men who fought and died in the Vietnam War. Thanks alot.

  • I know I'm being a little naive but I think it's better to be a dreamer and to hope and fight for a better world then to be happy or at least contempt with the current situation! So... Fight War and not wars. Peace!

  • fight war, not wars!

  • @kingsammythecat nothing free in this world. " All that's needed for evil to rise is that good men do nothing."

  • @HeadSHOT604 So you justify Vietnam and Iraq? Trust me, nobody in the world is willing to fight there foreign brother aslong as you leave him alone... Good men need to abolish imperialism and the arms industry, than you'll see evil fade away. Dictators, criminals and mad men wouldnt be able to do squat without weapons, if the masses rise up we can take care of anything and anybody!

  • @kingsammythecat sorry but right now that's not possible :/ but i completely agree with that's what the world needs but right now if we were to get rid of the army's then it opens the country to attacks and if the US and other powerful nations were to try to take away the army's of other countries i doubt they wold see it as a good thing more like your trying to take or freedom.... there's also ones right to protect him/herself from attack guns aren't the only weapons in the world......

  • @kingsammythecat You do realize, that even if we don't do anything, someone will eventually go to kill another. Evil never fades away. It's a part of reality, that we try to hide away from in our relatively comfortable, posh, and safe country. Thing is, you don't need nations for violence to exist. Look at gangs. Look at drug-lords, warlords, and anything else. They'll rise out of promises of quick riches, glory, or power. It's greed. And it will always exist, so long as one man envies another.

  • @kingsammythecat The majority of people are peaceful, and will tend to live-and-let-live. However, others will attempt to exploit this, and if they can't defend themselves, it will only lead to more exploitation. I read your other comment, so surely you do understand it... I'm just a realist. Peace is a dream, that any sane person strives for... but there's not many people in this world willing to accept that people think differently, and have that right.
