@drewsmith20 There is an epic Wrath of Khan stare at 2:32 as well. I hoped you would get more out of it when I edited this, but am starting to learn that it's impossible to please everyone.
@sleepyskunk Very true about the stare lol sorry I missed it. I love the Mashup. And yes having made videos myself I know what you mean about pleasing everyone. I'm really looking forward to your horror mashup.
@drewsmith20 Thanks Drew - I really think I got them all in the horror one, except these Platinum Dunes remakes (I won't get much flack for that, LOL!)
Science fiction is the greatest entertainment genre. Period. Nothing else is as flexible and approachable by such a wide range of tastes and styles. Dave Howe is an asshole for trying to get away from that.
Interesting footnote sent to me from user Sentwest: The novel 'Alien Influences' by sci-fi author Kristine Kathryn Rusch (1997) is about a group of human colonists' children who, neglected by their parents, are disastrously assimilated into the native alien population who are, incidentally, known as "Dancers".
@Dronttirontti Thank you! Blade Runner was a close call since the storyline does involve space. It's very difficult to draw the line but I opted out of all man-made robot movies. Decisions decisions...
This is exactly what I needed. I'm working on a sci-fi story and I didn't realize till I saw this just how important the space and tech imagery can be. I needed more of it. Thank you sleepyskunk for this rush of inspiration!
@smoker1111111111 So sorry! Couldn't find a decent quality clip for Serenity... same goes for Slither, The Fourth Kind, Cocoon, Dark Star, Howard the Duck, Lost in Space, Mac & Me and David Lynch's DUNE which I really wanted to include. I wish a website could provide high quality footage of every movie AND allow us to download it, not just watch it.
@CrackD0wn My rule was that the movie needs to involve something that either leaves Earth or comes from Space... that's why I also left out The Abyss and Leviathan.
@sleepyskunk it just so happens that I'm working on an E.T. video myself, and this has helped fuel my determination to get it done, so thank you as well!
awesome work, man. may have started a bit abruptly, but the pacing is great throughout and the vid made me nostalgic about a bunch of those movies. The Killers are pretty great for montages, eh? haha
@oyguvaltshappy Thanks a million! You should mashup older movies too if you have a chance! The nostalgia is like another layer of Nutella when doing the editing! :)
YouTube has gone batty.... it states in the "CONTAINS MATERIAL" area that there is material from Red Nose Day... not only is that not listed I didn't notice any clips from Red Nose Day in this video.
Very, very well done. Fantastic line up of film clips. You left no stone unturned. Loved seeing forgotten or unknown films like Starman, KPAX, BUckaroo Bonzai and a few others. Thanks for acknowleding those.
