This is the second song by Mud, with Les Gray (lead singer) singing in the style of his all time favourite idol ELVIS PRESLEY, and he does a damn good job too!
I get the picture that ALL OF YOU LOVE MUD ! How about trying to get "Devil In Your Eyes " played on the Radio , I dont think many people realise how Great Les Gray was ,especialy with the Elvis Sounda like As Mentioned . Then this would be OUR way of saying Thanks to Les , Ray , Dave , & Rob What do you say ?????????
Ive always been a Keen MUD Fan , I even went to see them in Portsmouth Guildhall , This is a true Fav of mine ,it said a lot about some of the girls I knew _oh Ummm !
these guy's loved to have fun with there record's and recording's they knew the bubble wouldn't last for ever. I for 1 really miss them and all that went with the era
I had the pleasure of getting pissed with the much missed Les Grey at a 70s weekender in Gt. Yarmouth about ten years ago. He was a real, old-fashioned rock n roller who lived hard and enjoyed every moment of his time in the spotlight. That evening gave me memories I'll cherish until the day I also pop off for good!
FANTASTIC never fail to bring a smile to see all four guys, they always seem to be having such fun and boy can they perform. And that voice of the great Les Elvis eat your heart
This is my personal favourite Mud song. :) Not one of their most exciting, but to me it has a really warm, cosy, sentimental, happy feeling to it (despite the heartbroken lyrics).
The band were before my time, but my parents actually knew Les and I got the music played to me all through my childhood! I remember Les once drove me to school in the mid-80s.
To this day, Mud are still my dad's favourite band! My mum isn't quite so stuck in the past: she prefers Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga! :)
Een prachtig nummer.Ik geluk gehad om vlak voor het overlijden van Les Gray nog een optreden tezien in Egmond aan Zee (een Goud van Oud festival)Je krijgt er gewoon kippevel van.Het is en blijft GOED
Good old stuff. Mud 2 are great recreating this sound and catch if you can the Rubettes who are virtually all original members and much better than you would ever believe
this group but especially les gray are absolutely outstanding i think they as a group should have got more credit and recignition for the music they produced together fantastic brings back memories of my teens 5 xxxxx
just remember mud from the school disco,s and youth clubs ,when we had them, not like today, happy days wish i could still be there, oh well, at least the memorys are still strong.
northfield comp, and north cross disco, that will only mean something if you are from northfied ,in birmingham
but just loved the whole mud thing of the seventies thanks t.q
Came across this on a greatest hits album. Somehow seemed to pass me by at the time. Great song! No one did Elvis quite like Les! Some good harmonies in the background as well. All wrapped up in a wonderful sense of humour! Sorely missed.
well spotted whatsernamePink, that WAS a yawn........maybe they'd had a good night the night before as i notice Rob wearing very dark glasses too and i can't remember seeing him in glasses befor
yes they had no airs about them, they were enjoying what they did and it showed in their performances, they were fun, and they always had time for the fans.......loved them
we were lucky to be able to get seats right next to the stage at a few mud shows, one of my lasting memories of one of their shows was when we ordered our drinks, as the waitress was taking our order les motioned with his hand that he would like one too, he asked for a pint of lager which we got him and had to keep passing up to him throughout the show in between songs, god did we get mucky looks from some of the other 'fans.' we made sure he got his round in later though.......
heard this song on my local radio station tonight and you know i just realised what a great voice he had. he always messed about and you never really took him seriously but he was great!!!
love this. thanks for posting it. great song great band, oh and tonymontana1974, they weren't a joke band, they were a fun band, there is a difference. saw them a few times live, they always put on a great show and a fun show, worth every penny of the ticket price, they even sounded good live, unlike some bands who sound tone deaf live.
They turned up so often at our local venue I always thought they were local? However I thought Edwin Star was living in Africa not nearby Nottingham!!!!!
I LOVED these guys in the 70's, bought every record and saw them live in Cardiff, Wales 3 times... Mud were by far my favourites and this song is right up there with the best, thank you boys for the joy byou brought me. Jules
