  • I'm seriously looking into Marine Corps infantry after 8 years in the Army. I had dreams of becoming Special Forces, but they never came to pass. This definitely looks like something I want to do. Spec Ops in every branch are the best of the best. Good luck to all who even make it there.

  • good luck to you pal

  • @brennealex00 Thanks a ton.

  • Tom Hanks/ Forrest Gump @ 11:07

  • @farmerdwight did I say it fuckin was? I'm enlisted and goin to basic after this summer and if I finish basic I want to do recon, what does a video game have anything to do with that?

  • @bubbagumpshrimp14 chill guys ......despite popular belief COD actualy does some good ............good for reaction time but thats about it

  • @bubbagumpshrimp14 hey dont say if , you gotta go in knowing your gonna make it through man, and its a given, gotta get into the mindset, im about to enlist the first month of summer

  • @krookednose85 true well good luck man

  • @bubbagumpshrimp14 good luck to you to man, semper fi

  • @krookednose85 I like your attitude. I was thinking the same thing, and I am 35. I need a new challenge in life. Mostly I want to fill the gap with Honor.

  • @bubbagumpshrimp14 OORAH Good luck at basic and dont go with the mind set of if you have to push through. Boot Camp will probably be the most fun you'll have in the Marine Corp (so far atleast it was for me)

  • respect ...

  • respect...

  • @bubbagumshrimp14 same here!

  • my dream to be a recon marine!

  • @bubbagumpshrimp14 It's not Call of Duty.

  • same her to

  • nothing i love more then hearing children argue about who's balls are bigger when they haven't even dropped yet...take your games somewhere and let the adults alone, ok?

  • @Boneless610 Here let me help you with that sentence structure:

"There's nothing that I love more than hearing children argue about who's balls are bigger; when their balls haven't even dropped yet. Take your games (definition, please?) elsewhere and leave the adults alone; ok?"

Well that about sums it up. This is all fun and games; I think you're the one taking this more seriously than you should.

  • who the fuck cares what video games say? there's real people dying for real shit and we're fighting about green to gray crap?

  • Wait a minute forest gump son? 11:07

  • @DODGEV8GUY no

  • 12:21 is so inspirational, its exactly what you gotta say to yourself in royal marine training...

  • And they dont even cover the academics these guys also have to go through.

  • its only 3 miles back to base. Last time i checked, its fuckin hard to carry like 400 pounds for 3 miles

  • @shoffman11b Army or Marines, so they have to train longer and harder for their mission. Also Army has "better shit" because they don't get leftovers. Marine Corps gets its money from whats left of the Navy, And to end this all branches serve the same country and have their own mission. The arguments saying that one is better than the other is invalid, because each serves the same cause and executes their mission excellently.

  • @jma1775:

Actually, Marsoc is SOCOM funded so they do get the "better shit".

  • @ogirv202 Matter of perspective

  • @jma1775

And i'd rather trust a Navy Sailor in an actual Naval battle, than any Navy Marine any day.

  • @shoffman11b Another good point, what i meant in my reply was from a infantry stand point.

  • @shoffman11b And if i replied to your comments out of order my bad, youtube has them show up weird.

  • @shoffman11b:

I would trust a Marine on the battlefield over a sailor on the battlefield. Every uniformed servicemen has their purpose, you're just being a myopic ass.

  • @ogirv202 wanting to join the Marines,, but just Remember, the Corpsmen is a Sailor and he's the one who's going to save your life.

  • @shoffman11b There is no need for any yelling, all that is boot camp shit, they have all gone through that and have all gone through the MOS training. They aren't their to make Marines, they are there to train better Marines and train them to be apart of the best. Also take into consideration that we only see what they let us see. And the reason why people believe Seal training is tougher or better, they have to train Navy Sailors into men that are combat ready, the Navy doesn't train like the

  • @jma1775

I also bump ogirv202's comment and state myself that the "yelling" is there for a reason. I'd rather get yelled at for fucking up in a USSOCOM school, than actually fuck up and a man die.

  • @shoffman11b I concur, but these guys know this, its nailed into them.

  • @jma1775

I started off 11B Infantry (the exact same as 0311 -but with less amphibious emphasis) and have stuck with that same MOS throughout my years in service. I have a secondary MOS; but that is my primary MOS.

I got yelled at rabidly at every school i've ever been to. If you fuck it up, you, someone else, or you all die. It's drilled into your head until you actually deploy, and even then the yelling never stops.

The Marines are neither more special, and shouldn't be treated any differently.

  • @shoffman11b oh no, they yelled at you???? wow you sound like a tough guy

  • @searchengine27

And you sound like a little girl. What, did you expect anything less of the U.S. Military? Even the Air Force get their asses thrashed more than the Marines do after boot camp. Marines can't handle getting thrashed after boot camp. I suppose this is part of the reason the Marine Corps is as fucking ate up as it is, other than the fact they're not even good at what they do. Since i've been there, and you haven't, i'm gonna say that your little bitch ass would squeal in my world.

  • @searchengine27

Beyond ditching the point of my original post like a complete dumbass; the point was the Marines get it CAKE compared to everyone else, but take all the glory. I suppose that's what they need to keep them motivated, considering they know the truth behind all the real lies. And if any douche posts anything different, you're not a Marine at all or you've never deployed, so suck one douchey poo. Poor little pussies couldn't handle the man's world so they went Marines/Navy.

  • @shoffman11b Just to kinda throw your entire post down the drain. People who can't make it in the Marines, quit, then go to the Army...and btw "douchey poo" just proves your ignorance.

  • @itwaslikethatalready

WRONG, alright Civie, here's the way it works. There is very little time when there's inter-branch transition from the Corps to the Army. It happens maybe once every 5-10 years. What you said was the Marine Corps excuse for being a shitty branch. It isn't like Battlefield 3 or any videogame, kid. They transition from the Marines cuz they got a shitty job they didn't wanted, to the Army so they could choose the job they really wanted. Just proves your ignorance, dumb ass.

  • @itwaslikethatalready And a little cherry on top of all of that, "just to kinda throw your entire post down the drain," If the Marine Corps were even a minuscule fraction as good as they claim to be, we'd get rid of all the other branches in the military and they would win 14 wars single-handedly. Movies and videogames are far from the truth of reality. Sorry to burst your bubble, douchey poo.

  • @shoffman11b lmao obvious troll is obvious...go play CoD and tell us more about what its like to be in the military bro

  • Comment removed

  • @shoffman11b:

Furthermore BRC is 3 months long, this video isn't a complete portrayal of all of their training at BRC. Furthermore, they were yelling at them. BRC gets brutal, especially when you go on hypothermic causing swims in the middle of the night... alot of stuff is kept away from the camera.... you also fail to see that the wash out rate is so low for recon because we are already trained for combat as it is, and also cause of MART.

  • @shoffman11b lmao its so easy to tell you have never been in the military, let alone near a real branch, get lost bro...go back to your CoD and tell your mommy to make you another peanut butter and jelly sammich...with the crust cut off obviously...we know how much you hate that

  • @searchengine27

Coming from somebody that obviously knows so much about that lifestyle; Right? When you grow enough hair on what balls you've yet to grow, conduct OSUT and then your MOS School/AIT and i'll be glad to thrash you until you can't even dig yourself out of the dirt. But you know nothing about what i'm talking about; you haven't been around long enough to learn. As I said, grow some nuts and then when you grow a little patch; i'll be paying your unit a visit, especially for you :)

  • @searchengine27

Oh, and "we" doesn't count the little voices in your head. The devil on your shoulder is telling you how much of a fucking failure you are which motivates you to spend this much time on the internet, and the angel is telling you to shut the fuck up cuz you're actually the one looking like a fucking joke here. CoD? Bro? Mommy? PB&J Sammiches? Awww next you'll be on youtube singing, "THIIIIS IS THE WAY I LIVE!" with all of which you described! If ur gonna fail, do it with pride!

  • @shoffman11b you seem mad...like a 12 year old girl that didnt get a pony for her birthday party...go cry somewhere else little girl. its embarrassing listening to little girls cry like you

  • @searchengine27

Actually, i've been letting the inner child out and laughing my ass off at your punk ass while you make yourself sound stupid. I've shown this to other people and they're laughing at you too. Why are we laughing? Because you're an idiot who thinks he knows something. Your fail "troll" is as fail as your "fail life." You're not good at it. Practicing your ADHD on youtube makes about as much sense as you commenting on this video. Hell, from what I can see you weren't even invited.

  • @searchengine27

Damn kid, haven't you taken enough of a beating? Get in the kitchen where you belong and make me a sandwich bitch. And don't forget the mustard. Bwahahaha!

  • @shoffman11b i take that back, you sound like an 8 year old girl. everyone look out, nancy is throwing another temper tantrum. crymoar bro

  • @searchengine27 Oh well maybe I will, since we have so much in common! I mean, you're calling me BRO and everything BRO! Maybe i'll grab my crying towel and join you! After all, i've been laughing my ass off at you so hard; i'm actually in tears! "sniffle"

  • @shoffman11b crymoar bro...whats it like being a little girl?

  • @searchengine27 It's like being just like you, Barbie! Btw can I borrow your pompoms you've been using to cheer for the Marine Corps? Yes those will have to do...!

  • @shoffman11b umadbro? crymoar little girl

  • @jma1775

Another thing, the hardest should be emphasized as much as possible, and any screwups get weeded out immediately. These men are supposedly the first one's in. They screw up, they all die.

  • the guy sleeping in strature was so happy..just kidding...respect/

  • the 4 dislikes are the 4 army guys who tried and FAIL..

  • @alfredojr71

Lol... actually, real Soldiers don't go to Marine Recon school. We have better shit, believe me. The 4 dislikes were either the 4 Marines that washed out, or the Navy SEALs who have tougher training that's sick of hearing the hype in comparison to how easy this shit is. The instructors don't even yell, this looks like girl scout camp.

  • @shoffman11b:

I promise you that no SEAL would think this is easy... this is merely the creation of a basic recconisance man. Further months of training follow this basic school, and the majority of the schools following this training are shared by all special forces. The reason why each unit has different durations has nothing to do with the difficulty, rather the mission. By the way, how many SEALs or Marsoc marines do you know? I'd be glad to introduce one to you.

  • @ogirv202

I've known a few SEALs during my time in service, and for a reason. In fact, i'm still in contact with one today. My brother-in-law also served in MARSOC and is now retired from the Corps.

  • @ogirv202

A real SEAL would compare this to his own training (including BUDs), and would rather take this anyday. Same would a Ranger (myself: 11B2V), Combat Controller, PJ, Nightstalker, etc.

  • @shoffman11b:

Idk how you can be so pompous about this whole ordeal. I know Marsoc and recon Marines who have completed ranger school, and are ranger qualified. I know Marsoc marines who have gone through BUDs... It's not like we don't have an underwater demolition team in USMC...... A real SEAL isn't a cocky loudmouth idiot trying to make himself sound better than other people, he just does it.

  • @ogirv202

Well, then again, we wouldn't. Thankfully, our training isn't this easy, lest we wouldn't come out as hard and better-made for real battle as we do. Suppose this isn't designed for the same

  • there supposed to adapt and overcome, so why cant they throw the tear gas away from them?

  • whats recon?

  • "they are no longer marines, they are recon marines" - Recon arent special Marines. They are Marines that just do special things. Every Marine is equal worth whether ur a sniper or a box kicker.

  • @gogorat1318 i respectfully disagree with your statement. Thats like saying a regular infantryman is equal to a delta force operator. If recon marines weren't special, then why do they gain rank faster than most other 03xx mos's?

  • @almst1 the military is a big team if one part doesnt pull there weight the others will suffer that goes for everyone delta to people who operate a field laundromat. The all are a crucial cog in the war machine. Without the other would not exist or be as capable. One is infinitely more skilled and cooler to be in but still not necessarily more important than the other. They all play a role and that role wouldn't exist if it wasn't needed

  • damn these guys have alot to be proud of the went through some real shit! so much respect!

  • Pardon my ignorance, are Recon Marines the same as Force Reconnaissance Marines?

  • @Tredoslop im pretty sure that they are the same, since Recon is short for reconnaissance

  • @Tredoslop recon is short for reconnaissance, and in this video, they are training regular battalion recon marines. Recon has 2 flavors: Force and Battalion, with force recon being much smaller and more elite.

  • How awesome would it be to be the Recon Marine candidate thats designated for being the dead guy? Hahaha thats a free 3 mile ride through gas.

  • I'm going in the marines but not recon still got respect for recon marines :)

  • *slow single clap into a loud thunder clap*

  • man fuck dis shit

  • oorahh, i cant wait to finally become a recon marine.

  • you know what, im British and about to start recruit training in the parachute regiment....these guys are fucking hard. Fair one.

  • respect to them at the US armed forces

    thats tough shit

  • This training was insane. These guys are fucking hard ass. Torture.

  • what do they say? Yes master?

  • @CrazyTeen7810 yes staff sergent

  • they used blanks and due to using blanks they would have a bfa (blank firing attachment) fitted to the weapon, the weapon also has a flash eliminator on the end of the barrel, along with this the bfa hides the flash. There will be flash, just not alot :)

  • Scratch that, sometimes there are muzzleflashes. I'm confused -_-

  • I may sound dumb for asking this, but during points in each Units training they seem to be using live ammo. But that can't be right, because they're shooting and being shot at by live targets. Are they using some sort of fake round (like blanks?) Or what? Also, there doesn't seem to be and muzzleflash, so I'm just curious, what ARE they using?

  • @Wolfbat9 if you look at the m16's or m4's that they are shooting look at the end of the barrel. they have plugs on them b.c blanks will not cycle the action of the rife since they are gas operated. they shoot blanks with that plug so that the gun functions porperly but there isnt muzzle flash b,c of the plug. live ammo is also used in Marine Coprs training.

  • Went to SOI West at Pendleton. Fuck that hell hole.

  • There is a lot of cussing in the US Marines

  • @Judedude302 *lives dumbass

  • the boogieman leaves under our bed chuck norris leaves uunder the boogie mans bed Recon Marines leave under Chuck Norris's bed!

  • Having been CS gassed when I was in training I have major respect for these guys. That stuff is horrible and I suffered nowhere near as long as they did

  • man that looks tough i wanna join the marines but i dont know about marine recon

  • CS gas is the biggest bitch in the world. If rioters or demonstrators think they got it bad from tear gas...

  • I bet they slept good that night

  • Violence begets further violence. However, violence against a world power only serves to see one's "cause" hammered mercilessly by overwhelming force. Rationalizing the actions of fundamentalist, death-loving murderers, and even comparing their beyond-criminal acts with legitimate revolutionaries is best left to hypocritical, insipid tubs of lard like Michael Moore. Let's not try and take anything away from that idiot, who compared Iraqi insurgents and al-Qaeda to the Minutemen of old. Moron.

  • @fmcc0904 Damn there's alot of "Surviving the Cuts" eh. is this a series on US tv?

  • @walkertexasranger33 It was. I believe it was canned after Season 2.

  • Oorah!

  • respect

  • i think the guy at 4:14 forgot to take his front lens cap off, made me chuckle haha <-- hopefully i put this in a way that people won't think i'm offending them. i respect them

  • @DarkEllusionist i think it is off, but its because he's using night vision that a smaller lens is necessary

  • Anything further on the asinine OWS or this anti-American / anti-military sentiment, and those spouting it will be fortunate if I all I do is block their comments. Only warning.

  • @fmcc0904 funny how ex marines and war vets are joining ows. OWS isn't anti-american or anti military in any way. It's anti coporate greed.

  • @AznGotChen Funny how, speaking as a formerly homeless vet, I can say irrefutably that those treacherous bastards offered the homeless upwards of 10-20 dollars a day for standing on ceremony for their idiotic and pointless protest. It IS anti-American, because America by its very nature is not Socialist or Communist. I have lived on the streets through harsh winters, and I don't believe in soaking up money I haven't earned. What right do liberal hippy douchebags that still live at home have to?

  • @fmcc0904 Since you have clearly been brainwashed by false information. Let me tell you this straight up. Our government no longer represents us. They represent the few corporations that are buying our politicians. That is why OWS is protesting. They are trying to preserve our democracy, a government for the people and not the one percent.

    Point debunked. Period. Try harder.

  • @AznGotChen You're a moron. Obviously you didn't bother reading, that I actually know the extremes of financial hardship, unlike the vast majority of idiots such as yourself who speak of lofty ideals and spout slogans without having even come close to that level of disadvantaged existence. Blocked, you puppet imbecile.

  • @fmcc0904 listen man i love my country but the corporations who buy off some politicians continuously do what they want and i agree you should have to work hard for a good life but for some americans its hard work 24/7 and its just impossible for them to pull themselves out of debt by health care companies mostly. i mean you say america is not socialist when we already have socialist programs like police, education, and fire dept

  • @fmcc0904 i mean theirs nothing wrong with capitalism or being rich but when it comes to services we need business must stay out and when these rich corporations can just sway the ideas of the politicians to work for them and not for the good of the people its just unacceptable.

  • @MrLila36 I agree with that, in so much as corporate figures should not be able to "lobby" aka bribe elected officials. But that is not what OWS was talking about. Which is why I say, in full force, upon further protests, LIBERATE Wall Street.

  • @fmcc0904 Thank you for your service, the videos you share and putting people in their place when they hide behind their keyboards and pretend to be the professionals. You're the fuckin' man. Nothing more needs to be said.

  • @DMCoady82 You're too kind. I'd rather just remain silent and neutral, but like any human being out there, some things just rub me a little too wrong to be ignored. I'm glad that some people just take it for what it's worth - a documentary. I found it very enlightening, as I was not SF myself (Branch management had its head up its ass, wasn't allowing anyone out of my CMF, not even to 18, which is supposed to be priority). One that sadly doesn't seem to be getting a 3rd season.

  • @AznGotChen Point debunked. Period. Try elsewhere.

  • Thank you so much fmcc

  • @TheJBurner Not a problem.

  • I don't mind being challenged, but I DO mind when you call my comments immature and arrogant. Yes, I oppose war very much. I hate it when people basically worship the military, as done by many US-Americans. There's nothing good about killing people. It's not immature to want peace. But I also want to make clear that I don't hate those soliders, because they are only tools. The root of all evil are people like Bush, politicians who kill thousands of people for money and claim they did for freedom

  • @RainbowYak

I think your comments are naive and stupid. Is that better?

Do you think you can avoid wars by becoming pacifists? Do you think only pacifists want peace?

Wars are not only fought for greed, power, and resources. You are only seeing one side of the coin. Wars are also fought for freedom and survival.

  • @Vulcan750L Yeah, wars are fought for freedom for survival. But are the current ones were in now really for our benefit?

  • @Brusier47

Terrorists want to kill us. Should we let them? Should we leave them alone? Should we let them plot and plan our demise and just sit and wait for the next attack? And then do something about it, like we had done in the past? What if the next attack is a nuclear bomb and not just planes crashing into buildings? Can we afford to do nothing and just sit and wait, and then respond? Or, should we go after them and and try to prevent the next attack?

  • @Vulcan750L Oh..boy. Have you uh done your research on these wars? You don't think people in that country might be just a little pissed off that we've killed thousands of their civilians? And maybe they might want to take arms to defend themselves? The term "terrorist" is that what we label those who fight for their countries now? If you're going to reply PM me instead. It doesn't have a character limit so you can get out everything you want to say easier.

  • @Brusier47

You seem to believe we are there to kill civilians. Have YOU done any research into these wars?

The vast majority of civilians killed are killed by other "civilians"? Most of the fighting going on is between the different waring factions and religious sects and foreign fighters. We are there trying to keep them from killing each other.

Civilians killed by US happen as an undesired consequence of having to fight in an urban environment. We are not purposely killing civilians.

  • These men are tough, but I cannot help feeling pity for them at the same time. They came to believe that they are strong and powerful, some of em maybe even believe they will be on the front-line fighting for high goods such as freedom. None of these things are true. The sad reality is this: the truly powerful men are those sitting behind big desks. All these soldiers are eventually nothing but tools of narcissistic politicans doing their personal war-games in order to become ever more powerful.

  • @RainbowYak Yes, we're all tools of evil men and if we could just get rid of them the world would be a happy place. The real "sad reality" is that you forget those narcissistic politicians aren't any different than the arrogant critics who want to remove them.

  • @twobluehorses Wait... my critics are arrogant, just because...?? So, I can't criticize people anymore, like in a totalitarian regime? How many U.S.soldiers died in unnecessary wars that were essentially fought for things like oil & money? More than I can count! Do you know why so many veterans participate in occupy wallstreet? Because it SUCKS to be a veteran in the U.S. They tell that you'll be treated like a hero, but you are treated like garbage. It's sad and very humiliating.

  • @RainbowYak Wars are fought for power, resources, money. "Narcissistic politicians" are someone elses Jews, Imperialists or what have you. Remove them & the vacuum is filled by a group someone else doesn't like. I'm glad veterans participate in OWS. The status quo needs friction even if evolution is probably the only thing that will change human nature. Criticize all you want but expect to be challenged when you post such immature cliches

  • recon hoooraah

  • 3 people are big fat pussy's

  • I would never join becuz of cod it just makes me mad that people are fighting for theirs lives and people can assume being in the military is easy no force will be easy

  • 3 people have met Recon on the battlefield and died

  • major respect to the men and women of the armed forces.

  • couldn't help smiling when they came through :)

  • im a 15th prestige on black ops. i think i can make it through this, I've made it through the campaign on VETERAN which is 1000000x harder!! haha I'm jk no hate mail please

  • @5bishop5 Why would you post such a statement?

  • As for COD. It's a fun game and all...but don't let that blur together with reality and think that's how it is all the time. For those of you who aren't in the service and like to run your mouth...you're more than welcome to walk into a recruiting station and give it a shot. Nut up or shut up.

  • @P4RTL0W1 (I intend2... 2morrow... in the Marines... hahaha 4real I'm not jk'n I go2 meps in 2days)

  • Motivates the hell out of me watching this even to this day. Happy 236th b-day Marines. Semper Fi.

  • Man I spent a total of 500 hours playing CoD and getting prestige 10 level 60. I can easily pass this shit... not.

  • Being designated wounded must be easy.

  • My K/D is normally around 3-4 so this course would be nothing against me.I think I'll try this out :) I'm sure my diabetes won't be a problem because I can play battlefield for 8 hours straight without problems! Mhmm... Yup..

  • @SecretMisery For a second I thought you were fckn serious.

  • @iMurderCreepers

Haha no no mate, I wouldn't survive 2 minutes in that course ;)

  • When I was in boot camp, I passed gas while in a run in formation and that is what happened. Everybody started coughing and collapsing, screaming that they couldn't see and breathe.

  • Hate to be on team 4.

  • I 360 quickscoped someone on call of duty...I think im gonna try this and shit all over them....not

  • If I have a high kill to death ratio in COD im sure i can do this just as easily when im 18. idk why there so tired dude.

  • @SSgt24thMEU You just made a fool out of your self. 10 years Army Rangers. 12 Marines 7 of them in Recon. I don't seek to convince you. Just read what I said and say what ever. I don't care.

  • @SSgt24thMEU 135 lbs if you have a six-man team for a 4 day mission. With the gear, you have to figure on 12-14 5590s a day. Split that up, with radios (117/mbitrs/150), weapons and ammo, water (fucking heavy), collections equipment, and your hidesite.... Shit gets stupid heavy real quick

  • ths kinda training is fuking hard

  • @SSgt24thMEU Radio Recon just have a large platoon at each of the Radio Bns. Some actually get to go through the BRC, some don't. We get a seat or two each cycle. Avg ruck weight for a patrol....135 lbs....lolz.

You're guys would be from 2nd Radio Bn. I just left 1st RadBn at Camp Pendleton.

  • @SSgt24thMEU Sorry, my experience is from the Radio Recon world....

  • green beret all the way sonnnn................

  • I'm sure women could do the same thing ::sarcasm ::

  • Just watching the part with the CS gas instantly reminded me of the effects I could almost feel it in my nose throat and eyes. Any part of your skin that is wet including your face feels the burn.

  • @MrLance001

Rangers are already considered as "special forces" but good luck on your endeavors

  • @jungminlee99 I was a Ranger. I don't consider Rangers special forces. I was also a Marine Recon.

  • @buddacafe Aren't you the biggest fucking liar to ever walk the earth. Fuckin piece of shit..
