I have windows 7 ultimate sp1 and before i upgraded to sp1 my welcome and logon wallpaper was like the windows 7 original wallpaper without the logo.. Why your wallpaper is different?

How do I enable 1024x768 resolution like on XP please? Some of my software wont run unless the resolution is 1024x768. Also I like the aspect ration kept rather than squashing my games - anyone? :(

@redmistpete OK - I found a work-around for the resoluion issue by editing 2 lines of the registry. - it still doesn't maintain the aspect ratio though :(

Which touch-pad driver did you use? Mine keeps disabling on each reboot (I have to connect a mouse to enable it again, then it work perfectly 'til next reboot).

My spouse and i set up Windows7 on my own laptop and it functions beautifully. I downloaded it via Windows7FreeDLXcom (replace X with . ) and it authorized really fast.

yes, there isnt on this built... but on final windows 7 they are working just fine with latest acpi driver

@junellevids I got the Super Hybrid Engine to work on mine. If you look on the Asus Support website, the driver is on there - I've got issues with the Touchpad and VGA drivers though.

@K1llerkanack3  yer the eepc will only play very basic games but no not to burst your bubble it hasn't got a hope at playing gta at a decent frame rate. its more of a word processing not book but still quite good none the less hope that answered ur question. and being ddr2 ram it shouldn't be more than $70 aus dollars.

@omgteetman You mean open GL? Open GL is more powerful than Direct X. Because it's better than Direct X, Open GL makes games run faster on lower powered PCs with tell powerful graphics. It's only because Microsoft compete against it (and don't allow hardware support when running windows) that Direct X is favourable/comparable when running Windows.

Windows 7 needs 512 megs for clean bootup, but minimals 1024MB (1GB) so you can always use it like it should

The difference between is that the 1000h has bluetooth and the Ha version don t, the battery is the same, 6 cells

I ordered an Eee 1000HA a couple of minutes ago with an additional 2 Gb ram sticj and a 320 7200RPM HD for the Eee pc. With the installation of 7 in mind.

If you still have a partition with another OS on it, you should be able to just delete everything off the drive with Win7 on it. But don't delete it! It runs better than XP!

FYI, Windows 7 should work with any Vista drivers. If they don't work, and the driver has an installer EXE, right-click on it, choose Properties, click the Compatibility tab, and run it in Compatibility mode for Windows Vista. :)

1) made other HDD using Acronis Disk Director Suite (i have now xp and 7), downloaded iso file,mounted with deamon tools, and all you can see in my other video..

2) It runs faster than vista, fast like XP, Win7 eats about 600 mb ram.
